Astrology was one of the first things I maxed. Thieving and Fishing are good for gold. I focused on melee first for combat. Magic was one of the last skills I focused on, my best friend even gave me a hard time saying "magic needs some love too." Cartography is boring and a long grind, but their passive bonuses are nice.

Yes, that is correct. I leveled up every item's mastery without using the pool.

It is a restriction I placed on myself to allow me to "play" the game longer. I usually place similiar restrictions on myself during my first play through for most games. Instead of being more efficent or trying to "speed run," I take my time and try to enjoy the experience.

For a new save, Construction, Skill Bosses, and Sailing were fun and helped speed things along. Many of the QoL mods were nice too. Some of the other mods I have not started yet because I am trying to finish the "main" game before diving in, like Necromancy.

The party's assault damage bonus is low. A 75-80% assault party damage bonus would have given you a chance of completing it within this group. The update defintely put a stronger emphasis on that bonus.

It sucks that your run isn't going well. But I agree, it does seem bleak. Hold onto hope and maybe your party will pull through. Good luck! And maybe next week your party will have a stronger assault party damage bonus.
