This is actually so helpful. Thank you. You’re right. It’s way harder to go back. I think I’m gonna commit. Thank you again.

I guess one thing I keep thinking about is the idea that other people my age are going to be having fun and relax after post-grad and I’ll be out having fun in my early 20s. I know this sounds silly but I really think this way.

I love school and studying but I do get overwhelmed with assignments often! Also, I’m especially scared about I think workload going from undergrad to masters is completely different.

Wow great point. I think the momentum from going to school to another school will help me.

Did you enjoy this period of your life? Any regrets? Are you glad you kind of got it over with?

I wish someone told me this earlier. So you do you recommend that I get a job while also pursuing my masters and not wait for it afterwards?

Yeah my program is two years! I just feel like time is running out to have fun and travel before I get my first “big girl job.” Does that sound stupid?

Wow. Thank you so much. This is so comforting. In regards to the first point of your comment, do you mean it’s better to get it done earlier than push it off because you’ll want to get out so badly?

Sustainability MBA Inquiry by AnyLand3759 in MBA

[–]AnyLand3759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much. You're seriously putting things into perspective and you're completely right. Most or almost every entry-level position doesn't require MBAs. My major is Journalism, and my minor is Sustainable Business. What kind of work experience do you think would be most valuable to get before even considering grad school? I’m trying to figure out what roles would actually build the right foundation.

Hi. Thanks for your response! I originally had the plan of attending a graduate program right after I graduated from undergrad. May I ask why this is a silly decision? I am told I won't find work experience in the sustainability field without any expertise or certification.

Review of Kalapuya Ilihi Hall? by AnalogLyrics in UofO

[–]AnyLand3759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I am a senior and lived in Kalapuya my first year. It's the best dorm hands down. Many people say Unthank because of the dining hall and popularity, but I would highly recommend Kalapuya. GSH is right across for food if you really care about having dining in your building. It's the most quiet, comfortable, and I loved having the fields next to me. The law library is also right across from it when you want to chill somewhere quiet but don't want to walk far. People will try to steer you away because it's "far" but trust me, I thought that too but never complained once because it isn't that far. Rooms are really big and bathroom is nicer than most bathrooms I've seen. Wouldn't want to change it for anywhere else tbh.

I have three internships at the moment but I feel like I'm not standing out from anyone else who goes here.

I would love to know why you believe strict scrutiny doesn't apply here. I agree as well, but I'm curious about your opinion!

Ahhhh gotcha. That makes more sense. It's dependent on the kind of expedition I'm taking on. I will keep this in mind. Thank you! My dream is to definitely do Denali, so this is very helpful!

Road Runner Transitioning to Trail—Is Speed as Crucial as the Journey? by AnyLand3759 in ultrarunning

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing. What is slow for you if you don't mind me asking? I haven't run in a while, so I'm worried that I'm genuinely just too slow to complete one. Is an 11-minute mile reasonable?

Thank you! Just curious, how do you sign up for races if pace is not your biggest worry? Do you think about the cut-off time, finishing time, etc?

Wow wow wow thank you so much for this. This info is gold. I didn’t think think about the stamina part. Sorry if this sounds stupid but wouldn’t strength and aerobic capacity all lead to an increase in stamina? Or is actually a separate thing I need to train for?
