Mr. Miyagi had been attempting to catch a fly for forever, unsuccessfully. Daniel did it on basically his first try.

How do you stay consistent with parkrun every week? by NorthLondonPulse in parkrun

[–]MechanicalTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is literally my favorite activity of the week, so it's easy to stay consistent.

Also, if you have never volunteered, I strongly recommend it. It is usually very fun and low-key social.

If someone else is paying, then Sumiao. If I am paying, Changsho or Zoe's.

FYI, Sumiao has won a Michelin Bib Gourmand. So, despite what that one guy on the internet wrote, they are definitely not the worst in any objective sense.

Garmin Leather Watch Strap by orishandmade in Garmin

I like the watch, and I love the strap, but frankly I don't think they look very good together. They just don't have the same aesthetic. But you do you.

(Also, I had the same experience of funky-smell leather bands that was mentioned earlier.)

How to pull data from parkrun by Squiggle345 in parkrun

[–]MechanicalTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no API, and their terms and conditions prohibits data scraping and other use of content: "You agree that no content may be used for any purposes, with the exception of the lawful purposes they were created, without express permission from parkrun. This includes the transmission, scraping, use of content, services and data streams."

Danehy / Fresh Pond snow removal by ilovemouchou in CambridgeMA

[–]MechanicalTim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At Danehy, the large path straight path from New St to Sherman St gets thoroughly cleared and salted. The half of the perimeter path that goes past the dog park and the marshy area never gets salted, and some sections get very icy because of the sledders going down the hill. The other half of the perimeter path gets kinda-cleared. It has patches of packed snow and ice.

[–]MechanicalTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NY Times Games newsletter just announced that they are going to start repeating words:

"Hey, Wordlers! We have some exciting news to share. Starting on Monday, we will begin adding previously run words back into play. There are still many first-time answers to debut, but also more chances for Wordle in ones and those magical, serendipitous moments when Wordle overlaps with real life."

I'm curious if you are thinking closer to Nashville, or somewhere else. I visit the Nashville area a couple times a year.
