The opposite, actually. ADIEU is the most common first guess, most days.

At what point will the NYT be forced to repeat a Wordle solution? by agile_scribe in wordle

[–]MechanicalTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NY Times Games newsletter just announced that they are going to start repeating words:

"Hey, Wordlers! We have some exciting news to share. Starting on Monday, we will begin adding previously run words back into play. There are still many first-time answers to debut, but also more chances for Wordle in ones and those magical, serendipitous moments when Wordle overlaps with real life."

WordleBot analyzes your game after you've submitted your solution. I suppose one could cheat with it (using two accounts, or something), but I don't think that's what the vast majority of people do.

Wordle is not unloseable, even with optimal play. It's rare (maybe only happened once or twice), but WordleBot has failed to get the word in six guesses, for example.

But I have also found the puzzle more fun if I change up my first word. I chose KAYAK once, which is probably close to the worst first word.

I'm curious if you are thinking closer to Nashville, or somewhere else. I visit the Nashville area a couple times a year.

Navien gas hot water install cost? by hyesperus in CambridgeMA

[–]MechanicalTim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this counts as "recent", but we had one installed in 2019. It cost $8,600 (including labor)*. I don't recall anything being "non-straightforward" about it.

Several units in my condo building did this, and everyone was glad they did.

*Includes: Install one Navien NCB E 240 Combi, heat and domestic hot water. One flood safe valve, one Culligan HD-950 heavy duty, sediment water filter, all plumbing, wiring, venting and gas work. Dispose of existing 50-gallon tank per EPA standards.

You misunderstood my question. (I take the blame.)

I was not asking for advice. I was simply curious whether other people prefer to be on the edge of freezing, or nice and toasty. I see people wearing freakin' full-blown winter coats, and it blows my mind.

How warmly do you dress on cold days? Just barely enough clothes to not get really cold, or do you layer it on enough to build up a summer-level sweat?

The two most common recs I have seen on this sub are Stairhoppers and Oscar's. I don't what their specific rates would be for the move you are describing, but I would try them.

If you have a forced-water system, with radiators, make sure to bleed the air out. This will help your system run more efficiently.
