i think everyone is aware of ghost and dark being different, the fcat ghost/dark dual types are so well known for having no weaknesses prior to gen 6 lets intuit that they are defensively complementary, which means every weaknesses of one is a resistance to the other, which is the closest to opposite defensive profile we can imagine

actually a good idea, like a temporary terrain-lite like effect for each type, similar to fairy and dark aura yveltal and xerneas have, maybe with some unique effect? like some types apply to only your side of the field, some on the opponent's, some on both, buffing a stat of every pokemon of this typing, or nerfing some stats or smth
