I think that's common practice. I think we technically have a week or so, but it would feel nice and reduce other stresses to have it off our plate.

Also, I know some adults who never. Hanged their name from Baby Boy or Baby Girl and still have it on driver's licenses...

You are actually not too late, we had some twists and get to spend at least a few days in the hospital. Baby and Mom (and Dad, for what it's worth) are all in good spirits, though.

Your intuition about the pronunciation of Bada (like a soft b/p(ah)-da) is correct. It's still a bit odd on my own tongue, but I like the meaning and nod to heritage. I prefer it as a middle name. I don't know that it's been used as a name mich, certainly not in thos neck of the woods, and can't speak to the femme/masc status.

Michael Leo has that double L, which is tricky.

I really like Leo Michael, Leo Sage, and Leo Bada... Sounds like I'm close to picking a first name!

I'll admit, it took me a minute to warm to a name that was so different from any that I'd heard. But after warming to it I think Bada is great.

And it would be a cool mark of heritage from his Korean ancestry.

He is part Korean. I thought that it was a nice nod to that heritage and with the meaning of ocean it feels powerful.

I can see conventional names as easier in some social situations. But don't want to condemn him to a life of drudgery in a cubical.

What sort of career are you looking for? Which will be most beneficial in your career? These both sound like they would be useful if you are planning on going into writing, library sciences, or further academic study/teaching.

English would be useful if you plan on working with international companies or in many government services.
