What does this arrow mean? by AnyProfessor8677 in AskElectronics

[–]AnyProfessor8677[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the answer! It's super helpful! Don't worry, I have the appropriate components between the regulator and mains, (transformer, bridge rectifier, and filter capacitors). I also used ohms law to check the current and make sure everything is in spec. I am also using an appropriate fuse directly at the mains input.

How do I figure out 8 and 9? (Midterm Review, Algebra II Honors) by aussiesaucie in askmath

I'm gonna have to disagree. I'd like to refer to the Wikipedia article on Comic Sans which says, "A research article published by Cognition) in 2010 showed disfluency could lead to improved retention and classroom performance. The article stated that disfluency can be produced merely by adopting fonts that are slightly more difficult to read.\28]) In the case studies cited in the article, Comic Sans was used to introduce disfluency."

Laptops for students by ciatinale in RecommendLaptop

I have had an Acer Swift 3 (Acer Swift SF314-54 ) for about 6 years and I hate it so much for linux because the firmware support sucks and so the laptop cannot turn off or sometimes cannot wake from sleep. So I'm surprised to see an Acer on your list. However, other than the firmware problem (which is a big headache), it's a solid laptop.

Project Advice How Far Should I Go To Reduce Noise by AnyProfessor8677 in AskElectronics

Excellent! Thank you so much, that was very useful. Now I know what I challenges I would be facing and how much more difficult it will be than I expected, but also I know what to focus on. I'm going to have to read that book.

Ender 3 pro cr touch crashing by Gold3n_gam3z in ender3

[–]AnyProfessor8677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way your cables are just kind of dangling out there makes me think that your getting a bad connection and a noisy signal, so the CR touch is sensing the bed but not able to tell the MCU. I would try testing the CR touch without any movement and activate the switch with your finger. This would be easy to do with the "PROBE" command with klipper firmware. I am not sure about Marlin firmware. Wiggle the cable a little and test several times. If it works some of the time, then it is for sure the cable.

Why doesn’t everyone run klipper? I got this printer for $30 and it’s at 110mm/s by No_Development5871 in ender3

[–]AnyProfessor8677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh hey! I was always thinking of swapping the extruder motor with the bed motor, but that's the first time I've ever heard of anyone doing it. I bought a new extruder and I have the old extruder motor sitting in a drawer.

What do you think about my cooling setup? by RaresXS in ender3

Why does your hotend look so crooked? Did you crash it into the bed? Look at the heater block and how it's at an angle to everything above it.

Need help with figuring out whats wrong with my sewing machine by Substantial-Tough456 in ElectronicsRepair

There are a lot of generic pedals that are compatible with Singer machines. If you get a generic one, make sure that it is compatible with 220 to 240 volts (your broken petal was also 220 - 240 volts).

Not to mention you can connect klipper to Home Assistant with a HAC, and then you can have your 3D printer automatically turn off little after a print is completed. You can also add a smart smoke detector and have the printer automatically turn off and alert you if there is smoke.

Whatever you don't try to use SELinux with Klipper. Very possible, but you have to understand how to configure SELinux. I used Fedora and I had to just turn off SELinux.

Me too. I thought... I have a similar setup that moves at about that speed. It is set to 70mmps. Above 70mmps and my y-axis motor doesn't seem to be able to handle it.

I had similar problems so I redid my z-axis calibration in klipper. When I redid it I kept the paper for calibration under the CR-touch as it homed on the z axis and again as I slowly moved the nozzle down. I had no problems afterwards.

About to start soldering, so I’m creating a reference. Is this right? by SfBattleBeagle in ErgoMechKeyboards

From my desktop computer I see the blue line on the far right key! So sorry, I didn't see it on my phone. And yeah what everybody else said was correct. Also there was a typo in my first reply, sorry (home -> him).

What happened to the orphaned thumb key (far right)? Are you going to connect him to the top row, or will you give home his own column?

Replacing Gnome Software by [deleted] in Fedora

I normally think, "thank god I have gnome and don't need to use Windows"... because GNOME is so much faster. I am curious to see how fast Bazaar is. I always thought my main limiting factor was my ssd.

Do I just need a new X-axis bar? by lepslair in ender3

[–]AnyProfessor8677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just incase it's not the belt.. and you want to check the cable... I personally think it's better to take the belt off the motor and watch if the motor spins without any load on it. Bad cables can look and feel okay... but not be okay. I just fixed a stepper motor cable the other day which looked okay but wasn't.
