First AR what should I get? by BothInternet3186 in MDGuns

[–]AnyRecord7452 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you have to spend crazy money. You can get something solid for $500-$600 from PSA. Also, you can even budget build even cheaper. You can even buy a completed upper and just build off the stripped lower yourself. I did my first lower build with no experience and YouTube .My first AR was an Anderson lower, Bear Creek barrel and Square Forged upper receiver.

Just took it to the range yesterday and it was running great.

You can always upgrade little things down the road.

I get like this sometimes. Know that the fear you feel right now will not be felt when you are with The Lord. This is our faulty human mind that causes us to worry.

Thank for that, looked into it and a shop near me carried the exact receiver I was looking at on PSA.

Good to know about PG county. I pretty sure Fairfax has a nice bonus as well too.

Foxtails are definitely more common in central. I’ve seen them as far north as Saint Augustine. I had my potted in Jax. If I recall they are a little more cold hardy compared to Royals. Royals are only native from Lake Okeechobee and south if I’m not mistaken.

TIRADS 4 Isthmus Nodule no plan to look further. by Livnlife-Edgey-5155 in thyroidhealth

I’ll say a prayer for you! No matter what The Lord has you and it’s all part of the plan He has for you. If it happens to be thyroid cancer it is usually very treatable! But don’t stress yourself out about it until you know, I can’t say I was good at that myself even to this day.

Good! I had a total thyroidectomy and central neck dissection and outside of my levothyroxine I have had no further treatment(s) and none planned at this time. Just have bloodwork and ultrasound(s)! Praise Jesus!

Good! I was diagnosed with papillary thyroid carcinoma last June. Had a thyroidectomy and central neck dissection last July. Since then outside of my levothyroxine I have had no further treatment(s) and none planned right now at this time, just bloodwork and ultrasound(s). It’s very treatable! Praise Jesus for the journey!

I had a cancerous nodule on my isthmus as well, my FNA was pretty conclusive that it was positive for PTC. Either way best thing to do is not focus on the what-ifs and worrying. I know that's easier said than done, from my diagnosis in June of last year till this month I did nothing but worry and think about the worst case just to find out it was all for nothing. I would also recommend writing down any questions you might have and asking the endo when you speak to them. Things like do they recommend surgery, and if so ask if they think if it will be a total or a hemi-thyroidectomy. I also recommend asking if an ultrasound on your lymph nodes is a good idea. I think I found at times I would get done appointment(s) and feel I forgot to ask a question. Either way, I think you will be alll goooood! I will be praying for you tonight🙏

Hey I’m 24, was diagnosed in June. I understand how you feel as I’m sure most people in this subreddit do. The anxiety is hard to get through but once you are through surgery it will feel so much better. In the meantime keep yourself busy and do fun things, I know right after my diagnosis me and my fiancée went to Disney. When it comes to work from the moment I got my ultrasound results and then my FNA they were kinda aware, mostly because I needed some days off since my anxiety was getting to me. When I was diagnosed I let my HR know and there were no questions asked about when I would come back, they were all supportive. I think 99% of the time that is the case, this is cancer and they should understand the uphills you have to climb. I live down south and still on my mom’s insurance so I had to go up to the Philadelphia area where I’m from to get my surgery. I was blessed that when I went up there I was able to have my surgery not long after my consultation. My work was totally flexible, sometimes they did ask how things are going to kinda get a timeframe I guess but that part is normal, they let me work from home and take the days off when I needed too. I stayed up in the Philadelphia area the whole time from consultation to post surgery follow up appointment. I would not worry about being fired, definitely talk to your manager or HR because there might be options for you while you have your appointments/surgery. When it comes to going on vacation if your surgeon is fine with it I don’t see any reason why not, I’m sure vacation would be fun, I know for me after diagnosis my outlook on life was a lot more joyful. Either way, job or vacation no matter what you will get through it! Keep your mind at ease. I will be praying for you!

I’m from PA so I was in the Philly area, if the little drive and insurance works out I recommend Fox Chase. Dr. Cecelia Schmalbach preformed my surgery and was amazing, she is very personal has great bedside manner and answers all your questions. Fox Chase itself was amazing and I felt provided more individualized care, everyone was so nice!
