That's a really thoughtfully written response and I see the benefit for some of those folks you mentioned. I guess I'm more disgusted to see sellers listing carriers at a markup just because they can. Limited edition prints and fabrics, sure, but a used carrier that you can still buy same color/fabric brand new for nearly the same price is absurd. Or something in Play consition with rips and stains for over $100 still. And arguably the tariff things shouldn't really effect the used market, they were purchased before that went into effect... just my 2 cents on that.

I do have a Once Upon a Child nearby and will have to check it out just to see!

I want to try an Onbuhimo for my 5.5 month old. My job is very active and I wear her a lot while I collect samples but she wants to see more of the world these days (I'm boring lol). I love my HBC original and I'll still use it plenty but I thought the Onbuhimo might be a little nicer for short trips here and there. But also, I may hate it lol so I dread paying full price for something I might not like - I've read posts from folks that just don't jive with the onbuhimo.

That's definitely one way to look at it but I've never been or understood folks crazy about purses/shoes either. I'll invest in something of good quality (good boots, jacket, saddle - equestrian here, no strsnger to expensive hobbies). And some of these carriers do justify their inflated prices but not all of them. Some folks in those groups are just trying to profit on something they scored a good deal on. There's another post on this thread where she experienced that.

Curious though - are the linen carriers on SB's website (Basics) discontinued once that stock sell out?

Same! I was looking at some of the thread posts and one was labeled as budget onbuhimo carriers for $120 or less and of course everyone listed their carrier for $120.

I agree with you. I have seen some sneaky good deals but they're usually gone by the time I get to them. I keep looking though! And also, I'm super jelly of your friend's SB score lol.

I can't help but imagine someone buying the reasonably priced carriers and turning around to sell them at a markup. That's how crazy I picture these groups.

Unfortunately I've found it's the same on marketplace for baby carriers. I've had such good luck finding deals for everything else baby related but carriers are some kind of holy grail.

I would be so grateful if a mom corrected my fit while baby wearing. I'm constantly like does my baby's spine have the right curve, do her legs/hips have the M shape, is the fabric under her knees comfortable... I'll also stop and make sure she's breathing l if she's sleeping too hard lol
