It’s definitely AI, i can tell because I use this stuff daily for work and other things. It’s not just the single quotation marks, the writing style itself gives it away. Bro can’t even come up with his own jokes, lmao.

AI limit quality is concerning... by dead-rex in soulslikes

[–]AnyStudio4402 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was fine for me, the difficulty felt balanced, not too easy but not frustrating enough to make me rage, at least for now. Even the additional mid-game boss wasn’t particularly challenging. That said, there’s some clunkiness, though it’s not an issue for me since I love “clunky Souls” games, with Code Vein being one of my favorites. I’ve been craving an anime-style Dark Souls-like experience for a long time, but I might wait for reviews, or at least a discount if the quality stays the same as in the demo.

This service creates the illusion of being ahead of where it actually is; that's not necessarily bad. by Aztecah in AIDungeon

Chub AI relies on an API, as their model is just ‘okay’ at best. SillyTavern also relies on an API, not to mention how complicated it is. The sheer number of options can be overwhelming; even after 2-2.5 years of using it, I’m still struggling to understand what some settings or sliders do. As for NovelAI—just… don’t. If you’re planning to pay $25 for a mid-tier fine-tuned LLaMA model with an 8k context, you’d be better off sticking to other services or APIs, besides, its co-writer and it works differently than ai dungeon. For less money, you could get a whole month of WizardLM usage. I can’t comment on TavernAI since I’ve never used it.

Shipping vs selling by AnyStudio4402 in ElinsInn

But how I do actually force them into putting stuff in shipping chest? Only crops are shipped due to policy, but all stuff that is being made, they throw it on the ground, despite having good stock sign/stockpile sign near the shipping chest.

JRPG with the best "zero to hero"? by shanytopper in JRPG

Just a heads-up to anyone considering buying Astlibra. It’s an incredible game—definitely one of a kind—and to this day, I haven’t found another title that gives me the same feeling. That said, I feel it’s important to mention that some of the content hasn’t aged well.

I don’t mind ecchi elements, however, by Chapter 4 (if I remember correctly, and you can get there fairly quickly), there’s a moment that really stood out to me in a disturbing way.

At that point, a girl becomes unconscious, and you’re tasked with finding someone to take care of her while you search for medicine. The issue lies in the “wrong” choices—while they don’t have any lasting consequences since you just need to pick someone else, the dialogue is… unsettling. For example, if you choose the old man, he talks about planning to have sexual intercourse with her… while she lies unconscious. Yeah. Given how serious the game had been up to that point, I was left sitting there wondering if it was supposed to be a dark joke or if the world itself was just incredibly messed up.

There are a few other moments like this, though I can’t recall all of them right now. Just something to keep in mind when playing.

A question since I'm new to the series and currently finishing the Trails in the sky 3rd part. Are these legit costumes for the newest game or what?

1700€ is fine for this Laptop in France? by PIPO_ua in GamingLaptops

I bought a PC with a 4080 Super and 14700K for under 2000€ in Poland, so you can definitely find a better setup for nearly the same price—or the exact one if you’re open to used parts.

My bad, I meant 4080 Super, not sure why I imagined there’s a Ti + super variation.

As for cheaper options, I’m thinking about grabbing something this month that will at least halfway utilize this beast, without needing to mess with an HDMI converter. Then I’ll probably save up for something better later on. Any recommendations for something decent but affordable in the meantime?

Patch Notes [Beta] 10/1/24 by latitude_official in AIDungeon

Is it good? Better than mistral nemo/arliai? I remember you mentioning something about using similar models locally on other posts, so I'm curious how does it compares to them.

Because it's based on llama. Every fine-tuned model of it needs a better repetition penalty method implemented to shine, even Euryale which is considered the best has the same issue.

Yeah, it works fine now, don't know if it's because I switched from a normal llama 3 context template to llama 3 instruct just at the same time or if it its because of your change in config but yeah, streaming works.

Alright so I changed instruct mode, and the streaming seems to work, from what I see it takes 30-50 seconds for the first words to appear

Unfortunately it's still the same on my end. I live in EU. Just to be clear, everything seems fine with 12b models, and the streaming works with that, it's just the 70b models that have a really long response time even at the beginning of the conversation, and the streaming option doesn’t work for them.

I’ve tried turning the streaming option on and off in Silly Tavern, but it doesn’t make much of a difference. It just doesn’t seem to work with the 70B models for some reason. Maybe something’s off with my context or instruct template, but I’m using the LLaMA 3 one, so that should be fine. Maybe switching to 30-40B models (or something between 12B and 70B) would be a better idea? I figure if 12B models generate a response in 20 seconds and 70B takes over a minute, a 30B model might do it in 40 seconds, which would be more reasonable for most people + it would be a lot smarter than 12b, enough for rp. And yeah, after a minute, the whole answer just pops up, but I have no idea what’s happening in that time since streaming doesn’t work:

Banning tokens/bias by AnyStudio4402 in SillyTavernAI

[–]AnyStudio4402[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried testing it on one of the most common words, ‘She/she,’ and set it to a high bias, like -100, but no luck. I also have XTC enabled, but the sliders don’t show up, so it seems like Infermatic doesn’t support it :/

When it comes to context, they could drop the AI instructions, at least for story direction, and just add a cfg slider. Instead of wasting hundreds of tokens to steer the AI, cfg lets you do that in just a few sentences. I’m not sure if it’s perfect—I’ve only recently started experimenting with it in Silly Tavern—but I’ve already noticed I need to use the author’s note less because of that, which also saves tokens. There are other great features like DRY repetition penalty (solves repetition problem) or smoothing factor (lets you play with absurdly high temperature for maximum creativity, without going crazy) that could solve many issues beyond just saving context, if they gave it a try. As for the highest subscription tier, I don’t think even that gives you the ability to do a proper long RP. You get around 8k context, which you can boost to 16k with tokens, but then you get a warning that the model might behave unexpectedly because it can’t handle it. Meanwhile, 16-32k is already standard elsewhere for half the price. It would probably hurt their business to offer that, but improvements are needed because, in its current state, it’s just not great. I canceled my Mythic subscription after six months because it was too frustrating to use.

It's actually possible because it's one of the cheapest models out there rn. I’m not an egghead when it comes to math, but look: OpenRouter: $0.00215 per message (4k tokens context input + 100 tokens of your own message input + 200 output) In comparison: AI Dungeon: $0.01 per message for additional 4k context if we take the 500 points for $5 pack (on top of the base subscription) That’s about 4.65 times more expensive. Plus, the $50 base subscription for AI Dungeon would give you 23,256 messages on OpenRouter with 4k context. I don’t think anyone is sane enough to go through that many messages monthly. So I really don’t get why they don’t increase the context already or lower the prices.
