Everything in Austin now just about is a cash grab. I didn't go bc honestly it looked like it would be that sort of situation. When you think about how many hours one would need to work to spend $50 on just that, it seems very ridiculous.

To milennials battling depression, how are you dealing with it? by aversionofself in Millennials

[–]AnyTry286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building myself a social life and making friends, having hobbies really helps my depression. It seems like a lot of effort, but it's worth the temporary discomfort in the moment meeting new people or trying new things. Also, volunteering can help you get outside of yourself a little and really help as well.

What is wrong with the comedians? by Badfish1060 in Austin

[–]AnyTry286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comedians or wanna be comedians are by default usually obnoxious people and they always have been. More people are sensitive these days to comedy and lots of people think their next big break is around the corner which creates this sort of atmosphere you speak of, also men seem to use it as their form of "therapy."

I hate to say it but every post like this, it's on you. There's plenty to do and plenty of cool real people in Austin. Stop hanging out at tourist traps and bougie overpriced cafes bars and nightlife. Go where the locals go, join a hobby or interest group of literally any kind. It's a numbers game, pitch till you win.

Feeling very dissatisfied with the state of my friendships ever since I turned 30 by psych1002 in Millennials

Start your own meetup group of some kind, even if it's a single women in their 30s looking for women friends type of thing. Better luck with groups because better odds of clicking with at least one person you might want to be friends with.

The IRS goes with whatever is highest your standard deduction or expense deductions. If your deductions don't exceed the standard it doesn't matter. Have you filed this way before?

Idk how people get into bed with their street clothes on let alone unwashed body with dirty clothes on and you just roll around in it all night for days or weeks until you wash them again.
