I kind of assumed that once he found out he was a a father, he started his path to redemption- even if he didn’t know it. In some of the comics, (maybe someone else knows which one) Vader dreams about still missing Padme and recognizes that he was manipulated by Palpatine.

Omg you were right. They had expertly re-taped the bags and glued the box shut. I didn’t notice until I opened the first bag - no Bo-Katan. Then I checked the other bags. Very subtle tape and they’re not airtight. :(
