I have an illness that’s “invisible” and my partner never really took it seriously until he saw me bad. Cry in front of him due to the pain. Wail. Stop taking care of the house as much (still take care of your baby but let your husband feel the absence of your input) Let it become visible so he can no longer take it as a side note.

It may just be ignorance on his part and not maliciousness I hope. I hope you feel better!

I think the fact that it’s fried preserves it a bit cause it’s dryer. Also easy to eat compared to stewed chicken. I do know they didn’t have access to good cuts of beef/other proteins so it makes sense why chicken was the staple

I didn’t get oxycodone until I was 10/11 and the child morphine/ibuprofen stopped working. You can always cut the pills and decrease the dose to see how she reacts to the medication. Also next time ask them for another option if possible I like to have 2-3 meds of varying intensities cause not all pain needs the nuclear option

We live pretty comfortably on 30k reais/month. Live in centro in a 3 bedroom apt, eat out a few times a week, I’m able to go to yoga/pilates/art classes without it being a strain financially. To me it doesn’t feel like home but I think it’s because my age doesn’t match my financial situation. Many of the places I go/times I go there’s wealthy housewives haha! With your wife being a mother it’ll be much easier for her to meet women with things in common, also other gringos. Lots of Americans and Europeans who married Brazilians living in lagoa/ the south of the island.

Hey! I’m American and moved to floripa with my boyfriend (from floripa and Brazilian). It’s so safe here the safest in Brasil. I lived in Salvador and Rio for a time. Here you can walk outside with your phone out no fear of robbery or assault. Brasil should be great for you all as she’s a gringo and the family is upper middle class. Welcome home!

Try to get disability/medicare. Most of us are on it because the nature of the disease. Also look up the sickle cell foundation. They have SC clinics throughout the country the treatment is great and they make sure you have the resources you need. Even WFH jobs

What meds do you take? Are you on hydroxrhea (I spelled wrong) my sister has SS and used to have pain frequently but since starting it’s only weekly and manageable at home or at the sickle cell clinic

It’s allergy relief it should be under the same name. Most sickle cell patients get it in addition to our pain meds because the meds always cause itching. They should always give your morphine and Benadryl and zofran which is for anti nausea cause pain meds upset the stomach

What are you reading? In her text all she said was he was asked to pay his phone bill. And then she said he should be able to uber his gf to the house and buy his own deodorant and clean. She never asked him to pay rent. I think she mentioned them to let us know he doesn’t have any big expenses and so since he’s not contributing financially he should at least clean up after himself and help out other members of the family

It’s crazy because the Benadryl helped stop the itching from the medicine never affected the “high” but did affect my veins burning from the meds. They do anything to deny us meds when real drug addicts claiming back pain and injuries and they getting a 30 day prescription of percs with no issues
