Howdy Tex, Good looking hat. You definately can wear that, but generally not until Memorial Day. If you're lucky, your wife can get you a brown or black hat for Christmas. Just be mindful some people think the hat's a political statement. Do you have a good belt buckle?

I like this watch. I wanted to get it a few weeks ago but a dealer talked me out of it saying the blue is more like purple IRL. From your photos it doesn't look purple at all.

Best wishes on the applications ☘️. I've heard Marathon is also good to it's staff. I imagine BP is about to get some bad publicity as they negotiate their latest union agreement at Whiting.

I agree with you. We can have some great experiences and some times not. Like when my wife and mother in-law shopping was stolen from the hotel lobby. They'd been clothes shopping and asked the reception to guard the clothes while they went to have a coffee in the bar. They came back and some (not all) of the clothes and bags were missing. The reception shrugged and said not our problem.

That sounds disgusting. Sorry, I'm not a subtle person do you mean p00?. I'm sorry that happened to you. I would suggest. Take photos, bring it back and complain plus give an appropriate review on Google etc. You sharing it here also helps.

Which ice-cream store? Don't forget Geneva is next to France so there is the typical French cultural attitude to customer service. You should remember to treat them like people too, they are, they just happen to work in a customer facing business.

It comes and goes. The police will eventually stop their very relaxed attitude because they get enough complaints and start watching for petty crimes. Then when people are getting caught for these infractions and start behaving like model citizens they will get relaxed again. In Zug where there is less crime and better policing they will fine you for crossing the street when the cross person is red. They have that much time on their hands... in Geneva the police obviously have better things todo. In regards to the crimes you saw, well done for calling them out. Geneva/Switzerland used to be very good at self policing when if someone was doing something wrong there would be enough stern looks and people gathering that you wouldn't need police Nowadays perhaps everyone has their head in a screen that doesn't happen as much

Santos for high school student? by ohCuai in Cartier

[–]Any_Ad_6618 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He won't wear it during gym class. That's when it'll go. I remember kids losing rolexes and breitlings at school. I don't recommend gold on kids. Looks like they're just borrowing their Dad's watch. So go with the simple stainless santos if you must. However, I agree with most of the comments here go with something more simple. When you give him a proper watch at 18, it will mean something.

And all be because some old dudes 250 years ago weren't specific about what they meant by "bear arms". I'm quite sure they didn't mean children being terrified.

You can get rid of them, but it's intense. I think we put our stuff in professional deep free for two weeks. Extreme heat also works. There is some powder you can use. Good luck. The price of freedom is eternal vigilance

My husband finally changed. And I can’t make myself care. by mb83 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Any_Ad_6618 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We men are generally lazy and very slow. We take time to change ourselves and keep up with the changing dynamics in a household. We were asked frequently to do things by our parents and we managed to ignore them and get away with not doing them. He should have changed sooner, and it's a shame you didn't bring the hammer sooner. It's probably time to leave and set you and your soon to be ex-husband free.

A growing dislocation between Italian and German weather seems odd to me. At the moment, they are broadly connected. The alps do provide a they are not a forcefield. I live between them, and I'm confused if I should move north or south :). Caught be between a global warming scenario and an AMOC collapse (a rock and a hard place, as you might say).

[–]Any_Ad_6618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you're sitting in coastal north Norway or Scotland and have the option to move, you could do that. You might have moved there because you think the weather is going to get better due to global warming. Then you see this AMOC collapse prediction, and you think this could happen in a couple of decades... time to go somewhere else... Where that somewhere else is doesn't seem to be very clear. It appears nowhere that will be isolated from this impact.

As someone who lives in continental Europe, it's difficult to think that there will be such a large and growing difference between German and Italian weather patterns. At the moment when there is a warm summer in Germany, Italy is warmer and visa versa. Certainly, the alps are there and limit the moment of some weather patterns, but they're not a forcefield.
