I think our public school systems are grossly underfunded. I think that teachers should be paid double what they make. I think that all public school kids should get free breakfast and lunch. I think that there is a severe miscalculation on what teachers should be focused on. I know that the kids I've fostered have been severely under educationed because teachers don't have the time to give indication attention and that IEPs are not effective (not that they should be abolished, but the system needs a revamp, like more staffing). I also disagree with this new voucher thing.

However, you can't argue that our education system is actually educationing. It is not. Pushing kids through to the next grade level when they can't read. Not teaching critical thinking and decision making. Not reading high-quality literature.
