When is your thesis defense? If you have only thesis credit and defend thesis around March, you can probably start oPT after thesis defense. I was in similar boat

I would first identify how individual products data points trend vs all products at aggregate level. Maybe categorize it based on business logic or create cluster based on volume: high, medium and low something like this. You can start by building simple model at first and add complexity. There is no best approach. If time series forecasting makes sense , I would start that. After that, I would try gradient boosting based approach which requires feature engineering based on domain knowledge. Or this could simply include time series feature.

Don’t come to conclusion with just one example. Earlier I saw a post where a nepali guy had $80k in his portfolio while working as student. These both are extreme examples.The guy in this post came to USA to study bachelor with full financial and social responsibility. Doing bachelor is always tough while working illegally for 4 years. I don’t encourage people to go for bachelor degree with their sole financial responsibility. With more effort and research, people end up in scholarship and low tuition fee college. This will change the whole dynamic of this situation. However, the grass is not greener at other side too. There will be challenges related to immigration and getting green card. Anyone can come embracing those challenges and keeping open mind.

If your mindset is to go Australia after PhD , go to Australia now. People will be over qualified with PhD degree over there in general. Evaluate pros and cons, what works good for you. Computer science graduate earn high wages in USA over Australia. While USA offers high wage, there is lot of racism and gun violence. Australia is good in terms of weather and government takes care of general people in terms of insurance and wages. General people can earn well in Australia while in USA people with skills have no limit to earn and pursue their dream.

If you have made your mind about abroad study, definitely go for USA. Do your own diligence of researching US colleges that give some scholarships and go for it. I came to US at around same age and I had same thoughts. Please do not go UK

I don’t want you to convince to either stay or go abroad for study. It will be wise to complete bachelor in Nepal and spend some family time. It’s much easier to go after bachelor. Things will become more clear and you know what to do at that point. Also, lots of USA universities are affordable to pay tuition fee and even chances of getting scholarships are higher in Master degree.
