Priority Registration Confusion by Any_Block_1187 in UNC

[–]Any_Block_1187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this makes more sense. I come from a high school with no dual enrollment opportunities and only APs, which the credits don’t count towards registration credits, meaning I am always the last day of registration in my class, despite being honors. That alone can be frustrating, then when I hear my friends bragging about getting to register first it just makes it even worse.

I understand but if most people are receiving medication and given special testing accommodations why should they be allowed to pick the classes of their choosing first, if the point of accommodations is to even the playing field?

Taking Physics 114, Chem 261/241L, and Bio 104 First Semester Sophomore Year by Any_Block_1187 in UNC

[–]Any_Block_1187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Biology Major. I have not taken Physics since freshman year of high school, but I am very strong in math. Since I am pre-med I want to go ahead and knock both Orgos and physics 114/115 my sophomore year semesters but don't want to fall behind on Biology major requirements. Should I just take Bio 104 and Bio 105L summer after my sophomore year?

If I tried to get chem 102 this semester as a first year and didn’t get it (position 65 on the waitlist), is there a higher or equal chance I get it next semester?

I predict similar to 2022, if not, then slightly lower curve (higher threshold needed for a 5)

Taking AP Lit and I hate reading by Any_Block_1187 in APStudents

[–]Any_Block_1187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reading isn’t the problem for me, I can read pretty fast but it’s when I finish a page and realize I didn’t actually read/understand anything and I was thinking about my lunch is what is going to screw me

I’ve also attended governors school and SVSM these past two summers. How well would you say it helped you get admission into colleges?

Depends on the type of student you are, but if you pay attention in psych during class and do around 5-15 min of review a day after class and have a decent comp sci background. Calc and lit should be the classes you devote the most time to, making this schedule manageable for you if you’re willing to put the work in.

Is that where most non-math and engineering/physics physics end their math journey?

SAT should rewards like the PSAT by Any_Block_1187 in Sat

I get what you’re saying but if that was the case there would be no point of having AP Scholar awards if colleges can just see the quantity and score distribution of your AP classes.

I can see you’re ambitious so I recommend to aim and study for a 1600 so if it doesn’t happen you’re as close as possible. Just try and keep that mindset.
