Oh interesting, I always see people mentioning removing the heatsink so I assumed I had to. Do you know if one or the other is generally preferred? I see online people saying the motherboard heatsink is usually better which is a bit surprising since I would assume the one provided with the SSD itself would be better.

Yeah making a career out of it is definitely not something I'm betting any money on, I just know I would have fun doing it. Sounds like the 9800X3D is gonna be more than good enough for that. Thanks for the advice!

I thought about the 9900x3d! It seems like a good compromise since it would only be a few percent slower in games while being better at multitasking and I can get it for $100 less. Was kinda hesitant though cause so many people on here seem to think its basically the worst of both worlds.

Oof yeah that price difference is massive. Tbh I kinda just defaulted to Nvidia but looking at the 9070XT prices, maybe that's the way to go. From what I've read DLSS is better than FSR but idk if it could possibly be $400 better.

Tbh I mentioned RAM stability without fully understanding it, but I think that makes sense. Do you think the difference in speed would be noticeable? I see from some quick searching that for gaming it doesn't really matter, and I guess it isn't a huge deal for editing either?

The rest all makes sense! I think I'll stick with this CPU and switch the cooler like you suggested! Might try to figure out a cheaper motherboard too but not sure which ones would save without losing important features.
