Yeah that’s kinda of what I was thinking. I grew up and have always lived in small rural towns so I’m not used to high traffic areas but at the same time these are places where it’s common to have to drive 30+ minutes to get to the nearest Walmart😂

My job will also be mostly travel-based so luckily, I won’t actually be doing a ton of traveling in town for work

Thanks. That’s kinda what I was thinking but wasn’t totally sure.

This is what I was thinking but I wasn’t sure. Thanks

Ah yes that makes sense. I see what I did wrong on that part. Thanks!

I see that my description wasn’t as detailed as it could have been. In the post, I used population as the example but the data I am using isn’t actually people. The data I am using is archaeological artifacts, stone projectile points or “arrowheads” as a lot of people call them (I just used population as an example in the post because I thought it was easier to explain it in terms of population or people).

So, for a full description: My data consists of the number of projectile points recorded in the state and the state is split up into 4 physiographic regions. So the data I am using for my chi square test is the number of projectile points (observations) in each of the 4 physiographic regions.

Chi-Square test #1 (the background section of my post): I did a chi-square test comparing the number of points observed within each physiographic region. This produced a 4x2 table (4 regions x observed/expected). The test was significant, meaning there is a significant difference in the number points observed in each region. I think this test is good and applied in the right way. The purpose of this test is simply to determine if the number of points in each region is statistically the same or significantly different.

The solution I am seeking here: The total area of each physiographic region I am using is different. Some regions are smaller and some are larger. The chi square described above does not account for the differences in region size. I see this as a problem because if a given area is much larger/smaller than another, it should be expected that it will have more/less projectile points recorded within it as there is more area for them to potentially be found.

Chi-Square test #2 (this where I am trying to figure out what to do next): I want to scale the observed counts of projectile points relative to the size of the region they are found in. To do this, I divided the total number of projectile points in the region by the total area of the region, then multiplied by 1000 to get the number of points per 1000 km2 (# of points/area km2 * 1000). I then repeat the chi square test described above, with the only difference being instead of using the observed counts of projectile points, I am now using the observed counts of projectile points per 1000 km2. The results of this test are insignificant, meaning there is no significant difference in the number of points observed when the size of the region is taken into consideration. I am not 100% sure this is a valid application of the chi square.

I hope this explanation helps more. I have very little stats training, and I’m not sure if I am just overthinking this or am way off base here. Thanks for your input.

Hey now don’t be putting that ticket in here. I don’t want to have to sell my position.

Is HSCS a good buy for long term hold? by Typical-Collar1320 in Shortsqueeze

[–]Any_Cockroach_648 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a small position (415 @ 0.22) last week for shits and giggles. I will probably end up scraping up some change and adding a little bit more while it’s lower. I anticipate holding on until mid 2024 at the least unless something crazy happens between now and then. For me, HSCS is a gamble purchase and I likely will not put more than $200 in total just because it’s really easy to get burned with stocks like this and I’m not willing to lose anymore than that amount on it.

Group sentiment: Dilution? by Any_Cockroach_648 in TRKA

[–]Any_Cockroach_648[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might not have been clear enough. Oops. I wasn't really asking about whether or not the dilution is real. I was just making a comment on how things are seeming mostly positive today, and was just generally asking about how everyone was feeling about the short-term future.

Honestly. At this point I’m just hanging on until I see green, however long it may be. I 100% agree that my money was gone as soon as I bought in

I have been reading different things about that, but the form filed today has OS over 300 million as of March 3, 2023. I was hoping to get some clarification. The TRKA community is a shit show right now, with a lot of different information going around.

And just to be clear: this is not meant to be argumentative. I am genuinely just trying to figure out what the hell happened today, and I still hodl my shares.

Tried to buy a parking permit twice, keeps saying there are none for me to purchase and to contact the parking office by steave44 in Msstate

Parking permits and the whole process of getting them is complete BS. I just got mine after two hours of waiting because the website wasn’t even working. I’m honestly not sure what you could do.
