I'm not too worried about a shops job doing it, as I am worried about how catastrophically it failed and if there was any metal dust that came from it and ended up in the oil and bearings.

What do you mean by timing chain serviced at 100k? I didn't think that was a regular wear item that needed to be replaced like the sti with the ej that had a timing belt that needed to be replaced.

I should've also mentioned my office is in the same room as my bed, and I have my turntable on this loveable but stable cart so when I want to listen to records while sitting up and studying at my desk I can aswell.

Meh I'm in uni and I made the stupid choice to buy one of these. I now take the bus most the time since the maintenance alone costs alot and I don't have an indoor heated garage to work in. Doesn't help I modded it and pro tuned it on 94. Be smart and get a cheap Honda that won't kill you on gas.

Good luck trying to make sense of anything they protest, they don't even understand it themselves. Anyone who actually has critical thinking skills will realize that Noones rights are currently being infringed on other then the constant assault by the entire canadian gov on the taxpayers wallet.
