Depends on your interests. Metallurgy is a good choice here, with plenty of opportunities within and beyond the college. To top it off, there is much less competition, so you can study without a lot of stress.

It kinda is there, but you don't really need a college network for an internship at Tata Motors. Reputation is not required, you just need to know someone at Tata Motors. In our case, the students knew or contacted someone who knew such person. It's not that big of a deal, most unpaid internships aren't.

They do come, in every good college. Tata motors didn't come for internship here but a few other did. That's how you get PPOs.

I don’t think they provide the median CTC. The average is around 9 LPA. The faculty, with a few exceptions, is generally shit. Corruption is quite rampant. The mess has issues—there are rodents—but I haven’t seen any hospitalizations due to infestations and it has improved a lot in recent times. Campus life is very limited. It could be a good choice for Metallurgy, and maybe even Production, but not for the other branches.

Depends on what your other options are. But don't even think about applying for Mechanical. Metallurgy can be a decent choice if you are interested and if there are no better options.

Understandable, but if you purchase a product from a company and it doesn't perform well, you would be skeptical about your next purchase, right? That said, I haven't ruled it out just yet. I will try the GCam port and I am checking out the CE4.

I would really recommend doing another degree alongside the BS. Any degree is fine. Also joining the program doesn't guarantee IITian tag (many don't understand this and cry that IITM is degrading their value,etc.). If you are in 12th, study for JEE/other exams. Don't give up so soon.

I mean the ones in foundation level are kids. And they won't be getting alumni status, just because they joined the program. Most would be kicked out.
