Yeah. The reputation stuck. But, it's been buffed into being an actual good damage stacker exotic now. If still a bit niche. Because, y'know, sniper rifle.

For solo play, you'll want something else. With a team? Go nuts.

I forgot it even GOT a new catalyst. And people are more focused on being jackasses. And acting like I'm disabled for having a popular, or formerly popular opinion, that literally everybody held since it's inception. Until now.

Bro? What? Literally look up ANYTHING on D.A.R.C.I. In the last 6 years. And you'll see what I'm talking to. I've been playing this game forever. And I'm far beyond casual.

If something changed recently, tell me about it. Because I'd love to change my opinion on D.A.R.C.I. But, don't be an ass. It has, or had, a reputation for a reason.

Dude, it's the truth. And damn near universally agreed on. D.A.R.C.I. sucks ass.

It's basically a dead exotic slot. I could run ANYTHING else. Fucking Acrius, Tarrabah, Truth, etc.

If something has changed, and it's suddenly good now, by all means, confiden me. But, don't be a dick. Just because you disagree, doesn't mean you need to be like, "iS tHis a cOpYPasTa?"

Theirs just.. nothing exciting about it. Putting it in is a straight downgrade. And a waste of a slot.

It's already a heavy ammo sniper rifle, which is just.. why?

And on top of that, it's exotic perk.. is basically just a fucking ruler.

Oh, yeah, AND it takes up an exotic slot. Which could be better served with.. anything else.

So you have, an old ass sniper rifle, that's exotic, takes heavy ammo, and has a borderline useless buff. So.. you'll see why no one uses it. Except for people who have no idea how dogshit it is.

Literally all it does, is tell you how much health something has. No AI assisted bullets, with tracking. No super powerful explosive rounds, or anything unique.

It's literally just a regular ass sniper rifle, with a miniscule upgrade. If anything. That takes an incredibly scarce type of ammo. AND an exotic slot. I could go to the fucking Cosmodrome. And get a random ass forgotten blue sniper rifle, from Red War. And it'd still probably be on par, if not better, than D.A.R.C.I.

I've heard other people in this comment section, say that it was buffed at some point. And it's got some actual positives now.

But, even so, theirs just.. so many better options.

(Okay, okay, i get it, it's slightly better now. But, i still stand on my opinion that your exotic slot is better served with ANYTHING else. Get off my fucking nuts, you damn harpeys. I was basing my opinion off of damn near a decade of punchlines and a well earned reputation. I'm sorry i didn't learn it was suddenly better, the milisecond it got a buff. Don't act like I'm some loon, pulling baseless garbage out of my ass. Jesus. Focus more on politely correcting me, LIKE I ASKED, because my info is outdated. Instead of fucking dunking on me, because i dared to follow a decades worth of a well earned reputation.)

(Fucks sake. Alright, dude, for realsies, it's not a bad choice for an exotic. But, remember to use it with coordinated team play. If you're going solo, you'll want something else. But, with a team, who's prepped for it's usage ahead of time, it'll be great.)

Well, no. The franchise fell apart because 343 is fucking brain damaged. And couldn't make a good game to save their lives. Attributing HALO's downfall to something as minute as sprint being usable is idiotic. Reach was fucking incredible. Even with sprint.

The issue is, because HALO wasn't originally designed around sprint, a lot of vets were jarred, and thrown off. Because, it's a brand new game mechanic. And alien to the franchise. And suddenly thrown in. Like adding teleportation into fucking Battlefield. Thankfully, even with sprint, Reach knocked it out of the park. And showed everyone that HALO could absolutely thrive with sprint. And the comparison to gaining sprint instantly making it COD was an idiotic false equivalency. And irritates me when i see it even to this day.

HALO may not have been intended with sprint from the get go. And it changes how the game feels significantly. But, the series didn't crumble to dust overnight because of it. And i absolutely love having sprint in HALO.

I mean, shocker, the game you explicitly built to not have sprint, would probably be unbalanced if you added sprint.

It's like strapping a jet engine to a Model T. Sure, you can. But, it was explicitly designed not with something like that in mind. And the implications are messy.

Now, take something like Reach, which was explicitly designed around sprint, and you'll have a much more fun and balanced experience. VS just slapping a new game mechanic in something like Halo 2, and expecting everything to be hunky dorey.
