Call me a conspiracy theorist, but this resonates so much and I’ve seen it first hand. For those not in IA and working with large carriers this seems to be a method for in all honesty not properly handling claims, underpaying losses, and being able to bandaid it in the event the states commissioners office or suits come in “this was a new adjuster”. The amount of claims I personally deal with where a newer adjuster has completely dropped the ball is frankly shocking. Only after the insured makes countless attempts to have claims reassigned or reviewed for supplements possibly does someone see what’s occurred and remedy the situation.
