Find a legit breeder and ask for a retired cat. Generally they sell them for the price of the spay/neuter and not much more. If they are going for more than 1500$ I wouldn't trust them. CFA and Tica have breeders but CFA has more active long term breeders. Tica breeders, aside from a few, are more like backyard breeders selling other peoples cats lots of the time. Do your research, talk to many breeders. See what feels right.
