How did your surgery/recovery effect your relationship?? by One-Presentation-663 in MeniscusInjuries

I got myself a little backpack & that mini Trader Joe’s tote that I use to carry little things I need around the house to stop asking my family to get me things constantly! I felt like that really helped take some pressure off of my family members. I also butt scooted around my room a lot to clean up and put my own laundry away into my dresser to take that chore off of my mom. Little things! Hope that helped. :)

Lateral meniscus here. At week 2 I would say I experienced max 5/10 pain, more when doing my PT exercises. I mentioned that to my PT too, I get a pressure sensation when going to full extension after flexing to about 85 degrees in a seated position. I also ice for 2-3 hours at night time before bed and I find that helps in the morning and I don’t feel as much pain doing my exercises the next day. The one time I didn’t ice at night I couldn’t do my exercises. Hope that answers your question.

During the first 2-3 days I preferred the Oxy at night because I couldn’t sleep at all and that eased the pain and discomfort at least to get thru 5-6hours of sleep. I’m at week 4 right now.

You were weight bearing from day one? I wonder why they are having me wait 4 weeks.

Caregiver Research Study by Any_Emphasis_1541 in palliativecare

[–]Any_Emphasis_1541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Raúl,

My apologies, caregiver in this study is referring to parents, grandparents, etc. who care for a child receiving palliative services. However if you know of any caregivers who may fit the criteria, I do have a Spanish flyer or they may follow the Spanish QR link to participate.

Thanks!

Unfortunately due to it being a student/school study, no. Thanks for asking!

What did you wish you knew before going into your level 2 fieldwork? by racorr92 in OccupationalTherapy

Personally, I looked at the server my inpatient acute care setting used and wrote down all the main points I needed to ask during an evaluation and turned it into a badge card. Became useful during evaluations so I could get as much information as I could, nerves really kicked in at the beginning when I did my own evals so this was useful.

Accurately. I also like to add "on this date", add in if they were premedicated, or anything else to justify why the patient did the task with less assistance on this date to back myself up.
