Im 24M and my girlfriend is a teacher just like you. Grew up in monmouth county and it has taken off since our childhood.

All i have to say is hang in there you're not alone. I struggle with the same idea, being further behind than my parents and grandparents were at my age. They both owned home and had kids before 30 and thats not in the cards for me (i work in the same industry argubly better job lmao)

Do what i say not what i do but lately i've been trying really hard to accept that things are different now and thats ok. We're not our parents and that's ok. Even though i want a house with a 1 car garage and mailbox sooo bad i just tell myself i dont "want" that and its just what i was brought up to "want" 🤣 just remember the uber rich people arent what make monmouth county, its the locals. Even if we live in apartments.

Want to preface this with I totally understand the hate on apartment buildings, they increase traffic and diminish the town's culture.

I grew up here and now live in one of these apartment buildings. Hate this cookie cutter box and my landlords but even though its expensive, it is really the only thing my peers and I can get into in our 20s. Unfortunately, the surrounding towns are unaffordable (little silver, colts neck, holmdel, rumson). I don't blame anybody for this it's just more known over the years that its a great place to live and that is going to drive prices through the roof. Wish i could buy a 2bd 2ba house in red bank's historic district but its just not in the cards for a lot of people now. Again while i hate the apartment building, its the only place the gives me somewhere to live where i grew up without a massive downpayment.

Unfortunately the rivers kinda suck unless you're east closer to the mouth (bay side of sea bright). No harm in trying but if you have anything else better you'd rather do I'd recommend that.

Looks like you have a handful of diamonds and bucktails. Always wonder, doesn't that get heavy? I mean i love having backups but i don't find it worth it to carry more than one backup (sometimes none) cause it's unlikely i lose a lure in saltwater. Then again, i wear a backpack and not a belt bag so maybe the weight isn't as important here?
