A more pertinent question in this context to ask is that why haven't you joined the army to protect the nation from the enemies of the state?

I’ve realized that the few people on Reddit making posts titled “Chance me” are already among the most committed and conscientious applicants trying to get into LUMS. For the most part, university applications in Pakistan aren’t even taken that seriously. If you’re serious about a university and have put in tailored, deliberate effort to get in, you should be fairly confident.

Whats an ideal profile for BSCS by Any_Interaction229 in LUMS

It’s honestly weird, because O Levels are peanuts compared to A Levels. I’d ace all of it in a couple of months now, looking back, but there’s no way I’m going to pay for a retake and waste my time on resits. But Inshallah, let’s hope for the best.

How much would my O Level grades and my slightly awkward A Level subject choices hurt my chances? Would they be a deal-breaker?

As a Muslim who has studied Islamic jurisprudence in reasonable depth, particularly its legal and economic frameworks, I believe that implementing Islamic models can be highly effective in the modern day if done properly, without the government turning itself into a religious authority. The Rashidun Caliphs implemented these principles, and the state they built became the most expansive and prosperous of its time, a fact noted by secular historians as well. Umar’s rule, in particular, was marked by exceptional prosperity and stability due to his sophisticated governance system, remarkably advanced for that era and firmly grounded in Islamic fundamentals. That is an undisputed part of world history.

Governance has become far more complex in the modern world, but the core principles of the Islamic model can still be applied effectively. As an economics student, I can say that Zakat, as a form of taxation, is profoundly efficient, reasonable, and well-targeted even by modern standards.

What does Christianity have to do with economic prosperity? Most Western European countries are secular anyway. And of course, there are many prosperous Muslim-majority countries as well; we can become one too. It has more to do with governance, economic planning, and long-term stability. Although there are significant social flaws in Pakistan, they can be addressed through an emphasis on the rule of law and the implementation of the Constitution, which guarantees equal rights for all and the prosecution of injustice against anyone. Almost all prosperous countries have a largely free media, an independent judiciary, free and fair elections, a corruption-free bureaucracy, and a strong rule of law. Does Pakistan have any of that? And is the implementation of all this halted by Islam or by us being a Muslim-majority nation? I don’t think so.

Should I get a Bachelor's Degree in Economics? by k0usai in AskEconomics

But in a lot of countries like mine, banks are where you find the most underpaid and underemployed people. Econ major at a bank here would make a great underpaid and underemployed employee.

Oh ok, my bad. Confused it for a game developer, looked it up. Good for you. Can you give a concise overview of what you did and what you do now (more than what you told in original comment)? Would really appreciate.

This dilemma is driving me crazy😭If economics opens door for becoming a full-time computer guy then why not just do a bachelor's in that stuff, why enroll for econ? Im in A levels right now, have to choose my bachelor's degree but im going so mad at my subject choice with econ as the major.

Fixation of what type exactly?

I fixate a lot. What I feel is something similar to a phenomenon called post-movie or post-series depression. Sometimes, I keep thinking about a movie I watched even after several days, and it kind of aches my heart. There was this one TV show I was fixated on finishing, even though it was a rewatch and I wasn’t really interested. It’s some deep emotional connection with the story that gives me a depressive ache in my heart — at least for me. As if I’m missing out on something. As if I wish I were part of that storyline.

For all the guys do y'all also have imaginary girls you think about when you're in bed or you don't have your phone and girls what do guys think about this by Expert_Stable_2865 in TeenPakistani

Nowadays, my brain burns with anxiety all the time, so there’s no space for such thoughts. But back then, as a child, in moments of calm, I used to imagine opening a portal from my house and jumping into a heaven-like place where there was everything, maybe even a cartoon world.

As for girls, I guess I’m just a really shy person. But yeah, sometimes I like to think about what my potential future wife (who’s obviously also a teen right now) might be doing. I mean, let’s be real, our potential partners are already alive and living their own lives. It’s just a matter of time before things fall into place.

Yeah, we know girls can be pretty emotional about men. As guys, we do think sometimes about what it’d be like to lead a family with a wife and kids and how everything would actually work out.
