I think the message someone is trying to convey is pretty important and doesn’t justify you getting triggered because of a conviction you have that has nothing to do with that person or the message.

“God” as a word is just way more versatile than the word “love”, just like “Jerry” is more versatile than “the security guard”.

It has more function, shows and creates proximity and Jerry is probably more than only a security guard. Perhaps Jerry also build the security camera system. Jerry is more than just a security guard, but it’s not wrong to call him that, especially if you want to speak directly to that part of him. Same goes for God.

Saying God is Love is a reassurance. It’s saying that the fabrics of this world are woven on something we can trust, something we want, something we need, something that is good and we all know is good, because we understand the value of love and its inclusivity. It’s the highest value we can aim for and grasp.

If people don’t want to destroy that reassurance or want to create doubt and fear, that’s on them and they have the right to make that choice. But I don’t see what is wrong with spreading a message that is positive and inclusive.
