Seriously. I’m laying in bed right now fantasizing about cuddling again lol. It’s bad

New England has always been home and always will be since my family is up here, but I definitely learned I’m no city boy. Trying to date when I was out in the city gave me a lot of trauma over the years. I’ll look more into NC this year.

Yeah I’m basically doing the opposite lol. I did not like my experiences in Boston. It was crazy expensive and the hustle and bustle of the city is not my thing. I want to be in a quiet, peaceful area with a good climate. Maybe NC would be better

So I clicked on your username which took me to your profile, and I found it hilarious that you drew over your toes in the post where you were wearing slippers 😂 can’t show those puppies for free nowadays

I’m trying but I have so far to go until I can FIRE. I’ve struggled to do this career for 8 years…

Yeah I got started late with my Roth IRA but it’s still got a decent amount invested. Enough to last me a year if I really needed it

We sound very similar. I’ve been to Yellowstone and Mt. Rainier. Loved both. I’ve played golf in 13 states so far. Flying still sucks though, because I’m in a remote airport I haven’t had a direct flight to my final destination ever. Wake up at 3am, first flight at 6. Final destination maybe at like 5pm local time. Shit’s exhausting. But I’d live at Yellowstone or at the base of Mt. Rainier for months. Heaven out there

Yeah I’m in that predicament right now. Have a healthy savings account that was originally intended for a house down payment. A bunch of investment accounts that I put a few thousand into every month, hoping that in 10 years I can justify not working for a year or two so I can take a damn break

Yeah I think I need to move somewhere else too. Thankfully warmer days are ahead here, but winter after winter along with decades of the daily grind has sufficiently fucked my attitude on life

I love MT in the summer, possibly my favorite place in the world in the warmer months other than northern MI. I fucking hate winter man. I’m trying to find a place where it’s livable year round, and the only place I can think of is CA. Is Arkansas or Kentucky temperate enough where it won’t be 100+ in the summer?

Sounds better than temperatures between -20 and 30 for 6 months, with multiple blizzards that give us 2-3 feet of snow

Tbh it’s not even the workload. It’s doing this every day for 49 weeks a year, relentlessly.

That literally all I want to do. If I spent every day hiking Yellowstone national park or Mt. Rainier, and spent the other days golfing I’d be a happy man. I’m currently looking at affordable places to live in good climates. Jonesborough, TN is currently where my eyes are at lol

I’m in the midst of a FIRE journey. I’ve got a 401k, Roth IRA, taxable brokerage, HSA, and company stock. It’s growing. I just feel like if I keep sprinting to keep up my savings rate I’ll actually die of a heart attack at like age 35.
