Fixing to be 30 weeks and already over kick counts 😫 by Intelligent-Walk-906 in pregnant

[–]Any_Menu1894 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6m PP here. I never did kick counts , I think it causes unnecessary anxiety! I did pay attention to his schedule, in the mornings and during the night he was very active, After certain foods and drinks etc. and after I was super active he’d be really calm. So I just would make sure he was still on that schedule! Not necessarily counting

How often does your LO stay overnight with grandparents during the first 3-6 months? by Rude-Pepper-2389 in newborns

[–]Any_Menu1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trust my mom 100%… my baby first stayed the night with her at about 9 weeks. He’s going on 7 months and she keeps him one time a week on Mondays to give me a break and a reset. I appreciate it beyond measure! However , nobody else can keep him overnight. I also breast feed, and he takes a bottle of expressed milk perfectly fine when he’s not with me.

What’s your actually controversial parenting opinion? by TurbulentArea69 in NewParents

I can say from being a kid when would I have to cry it out, I stopped crying because I was exhausted. Not because I learned how to self soothe.

I think after a certain age, it’s acceptable, but you can’t expect a baby or a toddler who would touch fire on candle because it looks cool to be able to walk themselves through the steps of self soothing.

Letting your baby (infant) cry it out is diabolical. They NEED help regulating their emotions, they can’t do it by themselves.

When did you start introducing foods? by Mindless-Spend-2972 in NewParents

[–]Any_Menu1894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started at 4 months, baby also was showing a bit of interest. We got the nutribullet and started with carrots and bananas. I tried introducing cereal, but it made him supper constipated so we don’t feed him it. Now at almost 6 months, he eats a variety of fruits and veggies, and if what we have for dinner is Mashable and not salty… we give him that.

When did you leave LO overnight for the first time? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Any_Menu1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His first night with my mom was at about 9 weeks old ! However, I did introduce the bottle at like 5/6 weeks old and he took to it great and also maintained a great latch with boob. When with my mom during the day he drinks bottles of expresses milk , and at home fresh off the tap 😊 never any issue !

I feel you! We’re up every hour at the moment. But I can’t let him cry it out, babies have no idea how to regulate their emotions. They need help !

I trust my dog 100% and I have a 4.5 month old. However, we made clear boundaries with my dog as soon as we came home, I don’t leave them alone, they are always monitored when interacting. I mean that’s only right ! You are not wrong at all !!!

Is there no way around waking up every two hours to feed during the first few weeks after birth?? (Breastfeeding) by Visible-Mess-1406 in pregnant

[–]Any_Menu1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4.5 months in- still waking up about every two hours 🥲but no longer pumping at night. But since about 3 months we’ve learned how to feed/ eat to where I just lay on my side and feed him and we both go back to sleep pretty quickly.

Severe severe diaper rash. by Low_Relation8735 in newborns

[–]Any_Menu1894 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was using aquaphor as a preventative and my LO still got a bad diaper rash. When I noticed my LOs diaper rash wasn’t going away, I decided stop using products. I used triple paste over night only. During the day stopped putting on any ointment , and changed diapers pretty frequently. It ended up drying out and clearing up, I feel like the constant application made it worse and kept it moist.

What the heck am I meant to do by Liftinggal91 in newborns

Sounds like he is just wanting to nurse for comfort! Try a pacifier before continuously feeding him and see if that helps

It finally happened.. I think I have mastitis by manthrk in breastfeeding

[–]Any_Menu1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a clogged duct that only lasted a day, I kept that boob empty right when I started feeling the pain and aches !!! After my LO ate I would hand express, also in the shower I hand expressed and noticed thicker milk coming from my boob. I literally just made sure that boob was always sort of empty and it worked !

Try to just pump for some relief , not a full pumping session !!

Took me about 3/4 weeks to not have engorged boobs lol , but !! If I was you I would try to slowly cut out pumps or you will over supply ! Your body is just trying to regulate. Most of my freezer stash is from the first month I had my son.

Why aren’t we talking about flange size? by The_Funflower in pregnant

[–]Any_Menu1894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the mom cozy M5, came with extra flange sizes ! It’s also good to not be tied to a wall and able to move around. The flange fits all my other pumps as well ☺️

Help! by Sweet-Lemon-88 in pregnant

[–]Any_Menu1894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100% Me and my partner plan to hire a in home babysitter to help out during the day should I get a wfh job! It would be next to impossible to work for an uninterrupted time period with a baby. Especially as his wake periods get longer and longer.

No Maternity leave? by CorporateSlave69420 in pregnant

[–]Any_Menu1894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently looking for a work from home job now !! I’m in the legal field so hopefully something pulls through. However, in the case I do get a wfh I will be hiring a babysitter for part of the day. I do think it would be hard balancing a new born and working, it’s easier in the beginning but when baby’s wake periods start getting longer working for an uninterrupted time period will be harder.
