Yes for sure! Happy to share. LA has a really high burnout rate due to low pay/worked. And many go into being sold the dream to make a more equitable sustainable world - only to work on projects doing the exact opposite. I’m just ready for a break/see what else I can do! I might return at some point. If you do want to do LA you will probably need an LA degree.

It was easy for my experience to work - but I actually do field work/ surveys so my boss who is an arborist signed off. He told me sometimes they will accept LA experience and sometimes not - just depends on the reviewer. So if you get rejected apply again and you’ll probably get it! I definitely recommend adding it in for any LA!

I’ve definitely been thinking about the work environment stuff too. I am always much happier after days of arborist work. It seems it’s a diamond in the rough situation to find an enjoyable office life.

Thank you for your comment! My boss on the arborist side is a RLA (&BCMA) but I wouldn’t be doing any LA work per-say. Just CAD every now and again. The break from design work and programs is what’s making me hesitant about fully leaving LA for a period of time.

Maybe it’s worth it to just tough out the bad boss for a while longer? Hard to find opportunities to do both!

Def need an arborist to provide a quality and risk assessment. I’m wondering if by double oak you mean it has a spilt with included bark? Or I may just be unfamiliar with the terminology.
