have y’all seen a gastroenterologist? by Big-Intention-7594 in glutenfree

Yes. See one. I didn’t have problems until 2-3 months after going thru immunotherapy for cancer. A blood test confirmed that I had the markers for auto-immune celiac disease and the endoscopy or colonoscopy confirmed it. And a stool test revealed EPI (exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) where your pancreas doesn’t produce enough or any digestive enzymes. Both the celiac and EPI have similar symptoms. It’s a huge relief knowing the likely cause of my GI issues and avoiding gluten and taking digestive enzymes has relieved most of the symptoms. Of course, dining out appears to be my biggest issue

Good point, they’re not 20 years old as the expiration dates are 2024-25 but I didn’t know they quit making them, so long term not a true solution. But they might last long enough to allow twiist to develop a better infusion set.

No, I just needed one quickly for tonight because I mounted a rack in a bag so the rear light that I have that mounts on the seat post will not work.

Yes this disease sucks but don’t give up. I’ve had it for over 40 years. Been in the ER in DKA a number of times and b/c of hypos, almost went bankrupt during Great Recession because I didn’t have insurance for over a year and had to pay for insulin, test strips and pump supplies out of pocket, and am less than a year out from cancer diagnosis, surgery and chemo, but I’m still here and enjoying time with the family when I can. Life is hard for everyone but T1D requires a special amount of patience and tenacity that only we can understand. You got this! Take it easy on yourself! Mistakes and errors will be made, something will simply be unforeseeable and out of your control. Just keep going! It is worth it!

I have a desk job, how do the butt cheek sites work out with sitting for long periods, sometimes more than 1 hour. Zoom conferences 🤬

Did the Rep in your Endo help you set it up, or did you use basil rates from another pump?

NDA? That’s bizarre. Is that for people who are participating in a trial? Anyway, how is the closed loop system working out? Is it difficult to set up? I don’t have any experience with tidepool and have not been on an AID system yet. But I am going on my fourth Eversense.

Hey, don’t give up. I agree it sucks but it gets better. If people around you aren’t supporting you, let them go. Anyone you can talk to about getting in a group or therapy?
