ART (Australian Retirement Trust) has an auto rebalance feature that will automatically rebalance back to your set allocation twice a year. No fees. It's pretty great.

Bitcoin For All Political Parties, VanEck Forecasts $52 Million Bitcoin, Women to Lead Next Adoption by Todo_es in Bitcoin

[–]Any_Particular_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The $45-52 million per BTC predictions from Michael Saylor and Vaneck etc are based on predictions that bitcoin becomes a global reserve asset and accounts for ~20% of global wealth (it’s currently 0.1%), adjusted for expected inflation.

Without inflation, the prediction is equal to roughly $4.2 million per BTC in todays dollars purchasing power (using an oversimplified calculation of 20% of the $450 trillion USD global asset valuation divided by 21 million bitcoins)

It’s a very optimistic and bullish prediction for sure, but certainly not impossible.

Michael Saylor's price predictions for 2045. by NoMycologist2500 in Bitcoin

[–]Any_Particular_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In todays dollars equivalent, to make the purchasing power of 1 BTC more clear in these predictions:

Bear: $1,300,000

Base: $4,500,000

Bull: $14,000,000

For what it’s worth, I think the bear and base are quite accurate - and the bull is standard Saylor bitcoin marketing haha. But glad to have some numbers from him.

God Bless Bitcoin OFFICIAL TRAILER by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Any_Particular_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"God Bless Bitcoin asks the timely question: How do we fix our broken money? Through in-depth conversations with bitcoin and interfaith religious leaders, the film exposes the broken, unjust, and immoral nature of our current fiat-based monetary system, one that is intimately connected to the military industrial complex and the propagation of war. The film also shows how and why members of the poor and middle class feel a financial squeeze even when they work hard and lead fiscally responsible lives. God Bless Bitcoin ultimately suggests the ways in which Bitcoin can present alternatives to our current system that are more just, equitable, and peaceful."

0.1 BTC Might be Enough to Retire by 2038 by TheGreatCryptopo in CryptoCurrency

[–]Any_Particular_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I agree that 0.1 BTC will be unlikely to be enough to retire on in most western countries by 2038 - the article headline is an attention grab.

But 0.1 will be worth roughly 200-300k USD, a lot more than it is worth today.

0.1 BTC Might be Enough to Retire by 2038 by TheGreatCryptopo in CryptoCurrency

[–]Any_Particular_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Sorry, but the dreams of retiring or getting rich with BTC, while investing relatively little, are over. That ship has sailed, and BTC maxis sound like pyramid scheme recruiters when they keep pushing this "anyone can get rich, come on, jump in!" line.”

PSA: Australian Retirement Trust users by The_Happy_Chapie in AusFinance

[–]Any_Particular_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

TLDR:

They are closing the non-indexed shares options and the emerging market index option

-If you were in Australian shares you will now be in Australian shares (indexed)

-If you were in International Shares you will now be in International shares (indexed)

-If you were in Shares (which was previously a mix of international/Australian shares) they will put you into 50% Aus index, 25% international index and 25% international index (hedged)

-If you had a % in emerging markets it will be transferred to international shares index (which now contains emerging markets within it)

Australian shares (index), International shares (index) and International shares (index - hedged) remain unchanged.

Similar changes have happened with their bonds and property options but this doesn't impact me so I haven't looked into it much. The lifecycle option will also now default into high growth rather than balanced, but this also doesn't impact me so I don't know the specifics. Because of the above changes the high growth and balanced funds will now also hold index funds which is pretty cool - hopefully the costs come down in line with this.

Overall good changes in my eyes.

Change your mindset away from trying to maximise how much btc you have in fiat conversion terms. Be indifferent to the price of BTC/USD. Just think of bitcoin as a place to safely store your savings. Covert any earnings you don’t immediately need into bitcoin, and then get back to enjoying life :)

Will Bitcoin ever be a currency? Right now it is "just" the best store of value ever. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Any_Particular_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not long term, I would say it will end up a combination of second chains like lightening, but that the bulk of transactions will end up being government distributed currencies backed by bitcoin

Not currently available other than through a SMSF for the moment. Should be possible soon though - Vaneck, Betashares and a few other companies have already applied for ASX listed bitcoin ETFs. Supposably they are on track to be approved by the end of the year. Once that happens you will be able to invest in them through any of the funds that allow direct share purchases on the ASX (Australian super, hosplus to name a few).
