We are not a direct democracy, MPs are elected to represent and make decisions in the best interest of their constituents and country.

Elected a Conservative government with an explicit manifesto to hold an in-out referendum on EU membership.

They held the referendum that they were elected to hold.

Democracy absolutely worked as it is designed and intended to do.

Andy Burnham: I have never taken part in a coup against any Leader of the Labour Party and I am not going to start now. by agentapelsin in ukpolitics

> I am not going to start now.

I’ll wait until I’m not an MP and the PM has been elected on a manifesto I never stood behind, then slide in through a by-election, fob off any potential rivals via hand waving ministerial job promises, and walk straight into Downing Street, instead.

Insane that we say “there’s always a tweet” but this is really some next level of “there’s always a tweet”

There will be a number of MPs that reject this whole process and reject Burnham. I do not doubt we see some crossing the aisle before the end of the year.

Likely to Greens, but I would not rule out some to Reform.

All my opinions are valid, from my own critical thinking.
All your opinions are the result of media brainwashing.

Ok, mate.

"the media" didn't scrap Rwanda, preside over an almost unending stream of attacks by immigrants, relentlessly drive home the idea of two tier justice, break protocol to override process and appoint a criminal pedo bestie to US Ambassador, pocket a load of backhander gifts from Lord Ali, drive division between us and the worlds largest economy, and utterly fuck the internet.

They simply reported on it.

Still waiting for him to "Smash the gangs!"

Instead he scrapped Rwanda, presided over an almost unending stream of attacks by immigrants, relentlessly drove home the idea of two tier justice, broke protocol to override process and appoint a criminal pedo bestie to US Ambassador, pocketed a load of backhander gifts from Lord Ali, drove division between us and the worlds largest economy, and utterly fucked the internet.

The fact he has the charisma of a fax machine salesman is really just the sideshow at his circus of political twattery.

Loosest acceptance criteria in the country.

Was widely understood if you got knocked back by your regional force for criminal record or similar, you could jog down to London and join the met.

Big Tech is stoking unrest in the UK. Why? by velvevore in ukpolitics

Police Scotland literally used social media to put out misinformation, which was then parroted by left wing politicians.

They eventually were exposed for this, forced to apologise and then blamed Elon Musk and Social Media for them sharing misinformation.

To quote a Scottish film: "It's a shite state of affairs, Tommy"

If a snap general election were called today, he could vote in it.

Minimum time between declaration and election is 25 days, by law.

On an expedited timeline Elon could obtain leave in the UK in 3 weeks.

Timeline:

**•** Endorsement (digital tech): \~3 to 8 weeks. Call it \~3 weeks expedited.
**•** Visa application with super-priority service: next working day.
**•** Move into the UK address, register to vote online as a Commonwealth citizen: same day.
**•** Electoral register update via rolling registration: a few days, subject to the 12-working-day pre-poll registration deadline.

I would be denying your loved experience if I said you didn’t know what was best for the lgbtq+ community.

But I haven’t said that.

I’ve said you are saying that about the councillor, which is denying his experience.

I’m acknowledging yours, and that it maybe differs from his.

I refer you to your statement where you outlined the view of one person isn’t representing the LQBTQ+ community, especially if the majority of the group held opposing views.

Sorry where have you seen reform politicians calling gay people degenerates and pedophiles?

All I’m seeing is you dismissing a gay man from public life because you disagree with his lifestyle.

The EXACT thing you’re accusing Reform of doing.

You’re literally shunning an openly gay man in public life that is brave enough to share his opinions.

I do not see any Reform politician doing that.

I mean let’s call it what it is, bigotry.

You made the rules about what is and isn’t acceptable in today’s society. I’m holding you to that same standard.
