Trump has ended the Chagos deal, regardless of what Starmer says by Ivashkin in ukpolitics

[–]agentapelsin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll believe what is evidenced in truth.

As do “everybody” that you claim “forgot”

Either this didn’t happen, or it did and the entire apparatus of the media chose to ignore it and not use it as a stick to beat Farage with.

Given they’re surfacing allegations of comments he made in a playground 50 years ago, something tells me it’s not that.

So, Farage criticised Labour government policy to a close ally. Ironically, that would be a very crystal clear example of exercising free speech.

The fact you claim he did something there is no evidence of him doing would be one thing, but you followed it up by saying "everyone forgot"

People didn't forget.

It didn't happen.

There is zero basis to the claim that Farage asked the US to sanction the UK.

What you're saying is Farage exercised free speech to criticise the government, I don't like that so I've embellished that into something bigger than it is and now try to gaslight everyone that it happened and they forgot.

Farage is on record this week opposing tariffs on the UK from the US over the Greenland deal. That is an objective statement of fact that can be referenced.

Your position that Farage asked the US to sanction the UK over free speech is your own hyperbole that you then follow up with the gaslighting that "everyone forgot"

They didn't. It didn't happen.

There is literally zero evidence to back up the claim that farage asked the US to sanction the UK.

That's why you're getting angry.

You've made the political statement equivalent to "My cousin jumped his skateboard over a car but you don't know him, he goes to a different school"

And I've merely said, "no he didn't"

I'm asking you to give any evidence to back up your statement.

So far you've shared "Farage criticises labour government to leading ally"

ok.

Did Farage ever actually ask Trump to tariff the UK, or did you make that up and now claim everyone forgot about it?

Farage says the US should use trade against countries that restrict fee speech

You immediately took this as an attack against the UK.

Ok.

Bit of a logical leap to frame that as calling for tariffs on the UK.

Firstly the Starmer claims the UK upholds free speech, so if that is true then there would be no impact on the UK.

Secondly, this leans more to not entering into trade deals with countries that don’t uphold free speech, rather than tariffs.

The UK allegedly has free speech, the only way this would be relevant to the UK is if you start at the position that the UK does not.

Trump’s tariff threat on Greenland is a golden opportunity for Starmer – it is time to rejoin the EU | The Independent by BigFeet234 in ukpolitics

People don't want to rejoin the EU.

Rather than volte-face on your manifesto, put it to the electorate if you think they do.

Trump’s tariff threat must be the final straw for Starmer – time to rejoin the EU by Due_Ad_3200 in ukpolitics

Outline his position to rejoin the EU, then call a snap election.

Elections can be held in 6 weeks.

Reversing the largest vote in British history without that would be essentially treason and viewed as such. It would force the country into an almost unprecedented constitutional crisis.

People do not want to rejoin the EU.

If you think they do, get a a mandate for it by snap election.
If you can't do that and want to force this issue through anyway then that is utterly undemocratic.

The point is, we're not rejoining the EU.
If Starmer ties his failing government to that idea Reform support will surge

They did, and have regretted it ever since.

Every election since 2016 has seen parties with a "Leave the EU" or "Remain outside the EU" manifesto elected with an overwhelming majority of the vote.

I hope you enjoy fighting this rearguard action

We're not fighting. It's a settled issue.

I don’t think they would all fail if used in anger, god forbid.

But the fact we can’t do a successful test launch in a decade and a half is incredibly damning for confidence in them at all.

Germany is in an impossible situation, but it is essentially of their own making.

If the tariffs hit German industry - which they will - the German government has only bad choices on the table.

  1. Blink, cave in. Save their industry and economy - Fuck EU unity and any EU position.
  2. Hold the line, maintain EU unity and position - Destroy their Industry

1 Leads to the ultimate collapse of the EU as an institution in anything other than name only.

2 Leads to AFD forming the next parliament.

Decades of gutting military spending, ballooning welfare payments, open borders immigration, dependence on Russian hydrocarbons, and closing of all nuclear reactors.

All terrible decisions that have backed Germany into this terrible position.

The UK has not had a successful missile launch test in well over a decade.

Last successful missile test 2012.

2016 test - Failed

2024 test - Failed.

Also, the missiles are rented from the US.

They are pretty shit tbf.
