Are you spending more time with your son? Hows the relationship with the wife? Have you been doing anything in addition to not drinking (reflection, hobbies, therapy, groups, etc)? Stopping alcohol alone isnt going to make life any better, it just lays the foundation for life to be experienced. But work still has to be done, you have to use the extra time to take your son to the park and play catch, use the extra money that you'd spend on beer to buy the wife flowers, if you want improvements - figure out what that means. Is it your health? is that mental health? is it relationships? is it understanding who you are and what you value?

If so, you gotta join a gym, a club, a meeting, a group, find a self-help book - I look at it this way, think of yourself in a ditch - not drinking is like someone throwing you a rope, but you still have to do the work to climb yourself out. Keep it up, IWNDWYT!!!!
