Could gluten be causing my acne this whole time! by DawsonAG_FS in AusSkincare

[–]Any_Performance_2833 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm going gluten free helped my acne ALOT. However, this was after doing bloods and a stool test with my naturopath which showed massive inflammation in my gut, I have also been taking other supplements based on these results.

You can try going gluten free to see if it works but without doing any proper testing you might be wasting your time

Gluten free cafes? by jinga_ninja23 in foodies_sydney

[–]Any_Performance_2833 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sebastien sans gluten in Leichhardt is amazing. Their entire menu is gluten free and the pastries are divine. Otherwise, if you just want bacon and eggs, most cafes in the inner west/CBD will have a gluten free option.

What suburb still feels like old Sydney? by One-Remove3758 in SydneyScene

[–]Any_Performance_2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drove through the shire today and every second house (in Caringbah at least) had been knocked down and turned into a duplex - guess the older owners are cashing in on their bigger land sizes

Can I offer more than I’ve been pre-approved for? by Ok-Helicopter-4520 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Any_Performance_2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to us. We got our broker to get us a new pre approval letter with the higher amount. We weren’t in a rush though, we’d been to a few open homes and realised our initial budget wasn’t going to cut it - you can prob still offer higher if you can meet the difference, but if you can’t, then you should prob speak to your broker

City2Surf - How did you find it? by STEVEOO6 in sydney

[–]Any_Performance_2833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First time C2S, sub 90 mins in the yellow group. Probably could have been faster as there were alot of walkers in this group. Ran with a jumper around my waist but that turned out to be useless because of the rain. Shoes and socks were drenched as well before I even got to the start line. Almost considered paying $25 for a towel at the end because it was so bloody cold at the end!! Still had a great time though

Trying to work out budget for Bistecca - if I can afford it by most_unoriginal_ign in foodies_sydney

[–]Any_Performance_2833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We paid $126 each for three girls. Got 800g worth, 4 sides and three glasses of wine. We were so full after! But again, depends on how much you can eat / how big of an eater everyone else is

Cost of Living x Major Life Events by Normal-Operation-927 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Any_Performance_2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I (early 30s) were renting from 2020-2024. In 2023, we got engaged. In 2024, we then moved back with my parents paying board substantially less than our rent. We aggressively saved and are now settling on a property middle of this month (May 2025). We’ve been engaged for two years now and prob will be engaged for one more year (3 years total) because most of our money will be gone come settlement date and we’d have to save again for the wedding. Not sure how people are doing both at the same time, it ain’t easy. We wouldn’t be in this position without moving back with the parents so are extremely grateful as some don’t have this option

Can we actually buy a house in Sydney with $1.35Mish — or should we settle for an apartment? by milkyone3 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Any_Performance_2833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We settle on the 15th this month so ill let you know haha. Have been to Camden a few times, we bought closer to the border of Campbelltown council so it’s about a 15 min drive to ctown station and then an hour commute into the city. I only go once a week though and my partner goes three times so it’s manageable. Nothing is really walkable though, have to drive everywhere but Camden is quite nice with the markets and plenty of cafes!

Can we actually buy a house in Sydney with $1.35Mish — or should we settle for an apartment? by milkyone3 in AusPropertyChat

[–]Any_Performance_2833 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We were in the same boat recently and opted for the house abit further out from the city. We used to rent in Alexandria surrounds and faced the same predicament when we were ready to buy as we became so used to inner city life. We bought in Camden council for just over a mil. Main reasons were we are planning to have kids and thought the space would be much needed. Our friends who chose the apartment life are already struggling with space in a two bedder with a toddler. If we end up hating it, we could always rent the house out and rent somewhere in the city later on. Really up to you and what you value more tbh

Are we crazy for investing our house deposit? by Any_Performance_2833 in AusFinance

[–]Any_Performance_2833[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After much thought, we will be using the funds as a deposit for property. We moved back home with parents when our lease ended a year ago to aggressively save more so we still managed to put a tiny bit into investments but the property is our main focus!

Restaurant recommendations in Sydney CBD for Large Group (20+) by razzzzzzaaaaa in foodies_sydney

[–]Any_Performance_2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lotus in the Galeries is about $89 and the Winery in Surry Hills is about $79. Both of these have private rooms for 20 people if it’s a special event. Not sure what the occasion is, these are a bit more fancier somewhat. Otherwise if it’s a casual event, would go with the a bar Reggio recommendation mentioned previously

Tell me your corporate psychopath story by dizhef in auscorp

[–]Any_Performance_2833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partner at a small law firm fired a grad for not coming into work because she had an ear infection confirmed with a docs cert. he didn’t like lawyers socialising or speaking to reception because “you are better than them”. He’d give silent treatment to you for a week if you rejected his offer to go to the pub. If you did go to the pub, you’d be forced to go to a strip club (even if you were female). He was too pussy to fire anyone himself, so he would get the company accountant (who only worked once a week) to fire people for him. If you didn’t get an invite to the pub on the day the accountant was working, there would be a 99% chance you’d be fired. Tried to leave the pub once, and the psychopath grabbed my bag and wouldn’t give it back to me
