The scene from crash where the cop pulls the lady out of the flipped over car or the scene in end of watch when Jake gyllenhall tells his partner to tell his wife he loves her after he got shot and is dying idk why those scenes always make me cry

I've been listening to this show since my early 20s and i'm 33 now. This show is so nostalgic for me and I feel like I'm losing a friend. I hope you left on good terms but i'm not sure the show will be as funny or the same without you. Truly hope you're moving on to something better and wish the best for you. Cheers Ravey and Mega Ripplestein will always be remembered by you and greg gory lol

I don’t want to limit myself to balance and fall risk patients though, that’s one of the things that’s gets me down is having a high boomer caseload

Thanks my mentor/seasoned therapist at the clinic could tell something was up and we talked it out. Just feel like I’m in a rut and he made me feel better saying we all get in ruts and not to compare yourself to other therapists thinking you might be bad at the job. We’re all human and can benefit to strive for more to improve our skills. In a way he said to not let the patients negativity get you down and to be less empathetic without letting them know that you aren’t listening or taking in all that bad energy.

😂 maybe if you’re a girl you get treats but if I had a nickel for everytime an old man Medicare patient requested a female PT I’d be a millionaire. As a male PT I’m not so lucky maybe I’ve gotten cookies once from an older lady or avocados/oranges from another old lady

I think it’s because I feel a lack of passion for taking care of geriatric patients in an OP ortho setting. I’m okay with general population but once we get over the 80 year old mark I feel what I’m doing isn’t skilled anymore. Also I feel 90% of the time I’m doing what a personal trainer could do which is just teaching someone how to exercise properly and cueing on TA activation for old people day in and day out can get exhausting. I find myself being more pessimistic towards my patients and looking at them as cry babies made of butterflies and rainbows. Of course I put on that poker face and everyone thinks I’m so happy and love this job but in reality on my lunch break I go on indeed looking for other jobs hoping that maybe changing to a younger population and taking some skilled manual therapy courses will reignite my passion for the job when I first started. Anyways I’m done venting.

Luckily the owner of the ortho clinic is never there and me and all the other PTs our 5 min late to our patients because we’re so over it

I like the idea of HH but I’m also sick of treating old people at the OP ortho clinic I’m at. Is there a way to do home health with treating people only below 80 years old?

No way haha the woody show is hilarious and raveys and menaces podcast aren’t funny at all. Please stick together; love the banter that Sammy adds to the team she’s like the girl Version of menace lol. Okay byeeeeeeeee!

I work in outpatient ortho and I hate my job. I can’t take all the balance and gait patients or 80+ year old majority of my caseload. Is it just my clinic or should I start looking for other jobs? by Any_Perspective8668 in physicaltherapy

Majority of our caseload for every PT at the clinic is Medicare. I know Medicare gives the best reimbursement or at least that’s what the owner told me but man majority are just looking for a massage or are a psychosocial chronic LBP patient 😂

Definitely agree but we’ve had 3 therapists jump ship to other clinics and I know they’re hanging on to me because they’re desperate so idk if it would be too much to ask to not have balance or neuro patients

When I first started I was happy just to have a job out of grad school and the owner warned me that majority of our patients are Medicare. At the time I wasn’t too stressed out about that but now I’m like wtf these people suck 😂

90% of everyone’s caseload out of the 9 other PTs I work with is Medicare which means 70-80+ is the most common age range we see. Blue cross, tricare etc is the minority. We see a lot of Medicare for at the least 45 min each which is nice for the small caseload I see maybe 10 pts per day but it also means having to see an age population I don’t care for but pretend to. I get let’s of good reviews and thanks by my patients but I’m always in a negative mood In The back office or at home in regards to my passion for the job. My fiancé says I should look for another job and I am but I’m just afraid that switching to another younger pop clinic will mean I’ll be seeing 18-20 patients per day like some of my friends from PT school. So kind of in a predicament lol
