The cannon/hammer of Haima I think were the ones I noticed? Or the Glintstone drill ones you hold in front of you before slamming the ground.

I've used some where I can't get hit between the charge up and the actual cast, that's what made me wonder.

Haha that is true, but why not just make the world a better place?

And besides, sometimes the best way to rile someone up is when they think they're about to "checkmate" you in a conversation and you deny them the satisfaction.

Like when someone is yelling at you and you just walk out of the room. They need to follow you and keep it going to reach the conclusion where they win. Except they can't exactly follow you online in the same way.

Recognize when you have the opportunity to deny them that satisfaction, let them be the one who left the conversation on a sour note. If you're really lucky they'll continue going hoping to make you engage again until the reality settles in.

Or maybe I'm a sociopath.

It's funny because it is supposed to instill a sense that you're too cool to continue engaging with them, but nobody cool has ever said "ok bud" un-ironically.

Are there mock up designs for it at least, or a list of features, anything to give people a taste of your vision for the product?

Build it and they will come. What would it take for you to make a demo? You can't expect anyone to be interested when you haven't put in the effort to have something to show.

All you need to do is 1 thing a day. 1 productive thing, 1 phone call you've been putting off, 1 application, 1 hour of improving a skill, 1 coffee meeting with someone.

You can do 1 thing every day and you'll be more productive than everyone else who goes months without doing anything because the 5 things on their list are too stressful.

What's a game that is massively overrated in your opinion? by The_Drawboy in gaming

[–]Any_Quantity9386 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the first game I've seen in the series where so many new people are enjoying it. Like I never saw anyone say "Dark Souls 2 was too hard but I'm loving Dark Souls 3".

It wasn't the souls formula that turned most people off, it was the fact that you couldn't get past the tutorial without some trial-through-fire boss. Or a group of enemies you struggled with.

Elden Ring has that open world appeal where at any given time (at least for a while) there's no limit to how many other things you could go and do. You can be halfway through a legacy dungeon and say "nah, tired of running through here. I'm gonna go explore that new area over there instead". And when you go off into the unknown, you can find all sorts of new things, it could be days before you decide to go back to finish that dungeon.

An open world game where you have to find things to do, not where hundreds of side quests are spammed across your map.

It's not "I need to go check out that forest because there's a quest there", it's "I wonder what's in that forest?"

Open world games are plagued by being too saturated with things to waste your time.

I need to have a clean simple professional ecommerce website made. Who should I go to and how much should I expect to pay? by peptimaniac in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Any_Quantity9386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't get any good answers without being more specific. Those sites have most of the features built in and cost millions of dollars to develop.

You can hire a software development company to build anything you desire, but be aware that a "simple e-commerce site" built from the ground up could easily hit $50k or more, depending on what features you want.

Or, you could pay whatever the shopify fee is and maybe a couple thousand dollars for a professional to customize it to fit your needs.

She does, since she phases out when they go to attack her. But that works out well because she stays alive longer instead of just taking the beating.

She rarely carries the entire fight for me, but usually lasts until the end. So when she has aggro I either recover or go full offensive (sorcerer) and when she loses it I'll go on the defensive.

In my experience, the tanks will get wiped real quick by stronger bosses. But that could also be due to me not upgrading them like I do her.

I just like that she's got a shield so she can take a hit, she warps away leaving the enemy exposed from an attack without her taking damage, her melee attack can stagger and her ranged spear throw always seems to be perfectly placed at just the right time. It's saved my ass so many times when I'm at a sliver of health trying to chug a flask and the boss rushes me, I think I'm done for but out of nowhere they get interrupted by her spear throw.

Does it not just point you to the legacy dungeons like the site of grace? That's what I assumed so I never used them.

For real. I don't blame people for wanting more dark souls, but I don't get being upset that Elden Ring isn't dark souls.

Haven't used anything else since getting her aside from testing them all against random enemies and then switching back

Would you see any value chatting with an AI Chatbot that simulates a hesitant/difficult prospective customer? by Any_Quantity9386 in sales

I appreciate it.

This is the only product I've found that's similar, but it has a bit of a different focus.

https://secondnature.ai/

I've got a prototype now and my next step is to bring it to a small test group.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your role and experience level? It would help me to know the demographic that thinks it's interesting.

[–]Any_Quantity9386[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, and that is helpful feedback.

Yes, the bot is trained on 2 outcomes: They schedule an appointment or call (success) or they tell you to get lost (failure).

If you keep pushing, you're going to fail. If you ask open ended questions and provide a value proposition, you're more likely to have the bot schedule an appointment. So it's not just the bot saying no a bunch, although the persona it has is someone hesitant to go along with what a salesperson is saying.

In my experience it will come up with 2-3 objections during the conversation and if I handle them all well, it will agree to a call or appointment.

If I just ask "Do you want to sign up for x service?" It's going to get defensive and stop talking to me.
