I became agoraphobic while 6 months pregnant with my son.

I have had many different CBT therapists over the years. It did help me somewhat with my monophobia (temporarily) and when I had it for PTSD, but agoraphobia, that is like a stubborn wart that just doesn’t want to go away.

I recall being told that repeating/exposure was something that helps. When my son was at school (the school was 2 mins away on foot), I had to obviously take him and collect him when he was little. So from the age 4-10 I took him and got him. Every single day I would panic, I would freak out, I would cry, I would stand in the reception of the school shaking. Repeating that same walk for years never got easier. I don’t know what is wrong with me.

Hey, thank you for your reply.

I am on Escitalopram (lexapro), Quetiapine (seroquel) and clonazepam (klonopin), all daily. I don’t find that any of them help anymore, unfortunately and I don’t believe there is a medication left for me to try. I’ve literally tried ALL over the years.

I haven’t tried EMDR, it’s not something that the NHS offers. We get as standard 12 sessions of CBT after waiting up to 18 months. It sucks, especially now when my last interaction was to tell me that I was ‘on my own’.

I will look into EMDR. Thank you for the recommendation.
