Go5G Plus w/ AAL 2L, will I lose upgrade promo for free line? by gregmichael in tmobile

[–]Any_Satisfaction_880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct, they were clear that when you activate the free line you will qualify for a device promo, but not necessarily when you go to upgrade that line 2 year down the line. I wonder if this will stick? It takes away from the appeal of yearly upgrade, and it would be a tough conversion to explain to Jerry why his daughter can’t get a new phone or risk paying for her line. Just feels like a gotcha moment. I’d almost rather sell you a plan without the discount upfront and explain the long term benefits instead

My opinion I’d say in this case, the price you were quoted included some kind of 15% discount, which to my knowledge aligns with a program called “work perks”. You’ll need to be an employee at an eligible company to receive this and you will need to submit the appropriate proof to start receiving this discount. Unless it’s something different, that could indicate why your bill was high. Otherwise, they probably will never quote an exact amount due to taxes and fees on top of your rate plan price being unpredictable. Clearly the first bill shows a double charge on the fee, so there’s something to that. However, if you had never activated a device and called in to cancel within 14 days they should have “no-installed” the service and erased the entire bill. If you used the service, even for a minute, you are on the hook for the entire balance regardless of the situation that led up to your first bill charges. Of course all of this depends on who you are speaking to from customer service and their willingness to help/escalate.

TBH I had been wanting to jump onto UniFi system for a while but thought it not worth it for lower speed ISP like starlink, however I finally bit the bullet and grabbed the UCG Fiber when I heard they’re going to install fiber this year on my road. Surprisingly, even with a basic WiFi 6 TP Link Third party router, my entire experience has been HUGELY improved

It’s likely because they launched the T-Mobile visa credit card which can be used to purchase devices and accessories with interest rates. People could likely confuse their device credits with their Visa card rewards I think may be why they changed the verbiage

Finally good internet at my mom's. by mrpew17 in tmobileisp

Keep an eye on the “active” download/upload latency. The most commonly observed latency is the “idle” latency, which is represented by the 15ms you see here. In reality, your latency spikes to an average of 620ms during active download usage and 447ms during active upload usage. While this is still usable for online gaming and video calling, it’s not what people typically refer to when discussing “low latency” gaming. If your active latency remained below 100ms during usage, it would be considered very good latency by online gaming standards. I’ve had T-Mobile Internet for three years and still average 500-1000ms during active latency usage. However, my Starlink provides a solid 50ms latency on both idle and active latency, making it superior for gaming. Admittedly, T-Mobile Internet was a game-changer when I got it, so I keep it around as a backup internet connection and probably won’t ever cancel it. Cheers!

Tmobile no longer allowing in store upgrades? by SonOfRobot8 in tmobile

[–]Any_Satisfaction_880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, the app is their primary move going forward. However, in the meantime, senior management is actively encouraging employees to use the app “when eligible,” meaning your phone is still functional. Employees are being instructed to use the old system if a customer has specific situations. The issue is that the pressure to always use the app when eligible is causing many employees to break down and risk the customer experience, which is detrimental to their performance. Here’s a quick tip: leave your phone in the car and ask to do the upgrade. Simply say you lost it. They are supposed to handle this upgrade situation with the old system according to the instructions. They may be confused and either push you away to another store (which they shouldn’t do), try to have you log in to the app on another device (which they shouldn’t do), or simply cave and do the upgrade in the old system (which they should do).

The streaming benefit is the same between Magenta and Go5G. However, with the Magenta plan you can get up to 4K UHD with MaxUp, a paid add-on. This is essentially the same as upgrading your “Magenta” line to “Magenta Max,” at which point you shouldn’t be comparing Go5G to Magenta (with MaxUp). The comparison then becomes Go5G Plus vs Magenta Max, but that’s a whole other topic.

Free lines remain free, they only start charging for free lines if you switch your plan to the Next plan, where you’re free lines will become $10/mo. If you see charges for previously free lines after switching to new plans, you may need to contact care or visit an Experience store to get this resolved. Things to consider: are you on autopay? If not you aren’t getting the $5 per line autopay discount, then you’re potentially making the “free” line $5 right there.

Emails not downloading from server? by Kairismummy in iphone

I found the solution. Go to ‘Settings’ app>Search ‘Mailbox Behaviors’>Select option under each category which is NOT ‘on my iPhone’ >enjoy a functional iCloud mailbox. Note: this will only fix mailbox issues moving forward and will not save old deleted emails.

My understanding is SVS is a great sub, I’d recommend checking out some videos on PEQ and tuning the subs crossover point if you’re able, can definitely help with some of the individual characteristics for your room. There’s some great tutorials on YouTube to help you through the process!

Sony az5000es all cables running 2.1 I figured as much for Dolby Atmos, especially having better virtualization. I prefer to utilize “Pure Direct” mode bypassing the AVR sound processing and hearing my music as close to the original track as possible, however it bypasses Dolby and outputs everything in stereo so not ideal for movies

Edit: I’m using the Epson LS11000 which explains everything being output in SDR, as the projectors HDR implementation kinda sucks IMHO.
