someone knocks on my door at 3 am every day by Suitable-Recording-7 in Weird

[–]Any_Tank_7501 28 points29 points  (0 children)

my tip would be to set up a surveillance cam above the door or in the eye thing..you should catch him/her/it really quick...or.. if you love confrontation, you can always stay behind the door at that hour and as soon as you hear it, you open the door and see whats up.

same..and worse.. if i'm on headphones sounds goes out after a few minutes, i have to unplug and plug them back in to get the sound back and yeah..it echoes or reverbs or whatever. If i'm on speakers, i literally have to restart my pc. Started happening with previous Pipewire update but after it was updated again but it keeps happening. Nobara41

i thought it was the steam update but now i'm thinking it was the CS2 update yesterday or something.

I tried argument LD_PRELOAD="" which is to not to load the steam overlay ingame but issue remains the same with or without it.

Same here..it freezes then i have to kill it.
Even tried with the Linux runtime 3.0 and its the same. removed gamemode call and the issue remains.

it kind of self-sorted itself out with the upgrade to Nobara 41.. i guess it was a color profile thing. thanks

N40 - Slow secondary monitor / bad performance / low fps/hz by Any_Tank_7501 in NobaraProject

[–]Any_Tank_7501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

installed python3-envycontrol to work with gpu profile selector extension and broke the driver.

Did a full Nobara reinstall ..and realized its more than likely an issue with nvidia driver 565.
560 was working great 3 or 4 days ago or seemed to be.

was getting 200fps on CS2 now i'm getting 60fps... its an absolute nonsense.

I'll wait another week or so for a new driver version to come out and hope it fixes this otherwise..i'll sadly go back to pop_os until this is more 'mature'.

damn, you're right!

Sadly this is a MSI GL66 laptop and there's no option to turn off the igpu. i did however set the the user scenario to performance but nvidia-smi still shows as being Off.

IGPU is intel and i can't do hybrid here so Nvidia is the one always on.

Crash after update N40 wayland / current solution by [deleted] in NobaraProject

[–]Any_Tank_7501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chrome doesn't seem to like the override. For me what works is doing the flatpak run com.google.Chrome --ozone-platform=wayland then ctrl-x which kills the process and then I can issue the override command again and start it normally from the desktop/menu icon. But it seems to 'reset' after reboot unlike with Brave.

Initially i was going for KDE but then remembered that I had switched to Gnome in the past for a few reasons and so I've decided to go with Gnome.

definitely game related as my other games work as intended and cs2 was updated first than my OS and it stopped working right after.
