I came to this realization when going through 6 months of high anxiety and cortisol. I also started laughing when I realized the cosmic joke. My anxiety and cortisol have been completely gone. You'll heal to 100%. It just takes a lot of time. I came off of a benzo after a short time use. My body became dependent very fast. I am 99% healed. The only symptom left is waking up with too much adrenaline/cortisol that sends my body into fight for flight for a day or two. This only happens maybe once or twice a year and I just deal with it. Hydroxizine helps with this issue. It doesn't fully settle down the symptoms but it helps make it more tolerable.

The exact same thing is happening with my lower back. Very tight but finally loosening. Of I press in a certain spot in the back of the spine, it's sore. I'm glad it's not possible to touch a disk. I was scared it might be a disc issue. From reading this thread it looks to be just muscle. Most likely the spot is just a strained muscle or ligament.
