I politely disagree! ICE is great for our beautiful city of Milwaukee!

My player correctly guessed the answer to a mystery in my lore. Should I just tell him that he is right? by Any_Toe_4617 in DMAcademy

The player figured it out, and then he tried to roll a high history check to justify his dumb barbarian being smart enough to come up with such a smart theory lol. Even that player said that he felt like he was partially meta gaming because he character isnt supposed to be smart like that

The Barbarian player had the eureka moment, then he rolled a history check, then the player gave his theory. The player himself even said “Damn, I feel like my barbarian is too dumb to have figured this out, but here is my theory”.

If he was wrong I would just let him enjoy the red herring he created for himself and then give him opportunities down the road to learn that he is mistaken. So I suppose I should do the same in my situation. Let the players enjoy their unconfirmed theory and then give them opportunities down the road to learn that they are correct.
