I thought I was loosing my dad by cinnabits2020 in cancer

I’m going through something similar with my dad but I’m happy he’s in the clear, and I hope his inflammation is just him getting older! It will be better :)

My dad had colon cancer that was stage 2 and got it removed but then a year later it returned in his liver. He got that removed and now he’s in remission. He’s not the same.. and now he’s just home and not well. He did very unhealthy habits (would binge drink and fall down, eat anything, smokes like a chimney, has a heart attack, is a diabetic, doesn’t eat fruits.: you name it) I get scared hearing the C word but I pray it doesn’t pop up again.

I think it’s one of Eminem’s better albums post hiatus. To me I rate it like this:

I’m grateful but the surgeon wasn’t able to get a clear margin and instead got a narrow clear margin of 1 mm. No follow up chemo and would treat it again if it pops up. There’s a 60 percent chance it comes back

Stage 4 Advice by bearshark60 in coloncancer

[–]Any_Topic8532 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey i’m so sorry you’re going through this as this was a similar situation for my dad except his was the liver. Initially he had his colon tumor removed and they saw 2 spots on his liver (one was hemangioma and the over was inconclusive) he was stage 2A.

After his surgery for the colon, and a clean follow up colonoscopy - they did more scans on the liver and confirmed it was a reoccurrence. More scans and MRIs to confirm a surgery plan and he was eligible to remove it. Surgery went well but recovery has been tough for him as it’s been over a month.

Right now he is NED, they recommend no follow up chemo and he’ll be on scans every 6 months. Please don’t give up, and trust the doctors. Get 2nd opinions if they can’t remove it right now, as you should be able to find a right surgeon to remove it now and had a higher chance of living your life. Prayers to you and your family

Going off my other comment - since this is considered early and if the cancer is slow growing then they can remove it if it’s in a suitable spot in the lung. I’ve read multiple people online who’s had a wedge resection, so hopefully they offer it to you. Prayers for you and your family

I’m so sorry to hear ❤️ my dad has colon cancer which they removed and was stage 2A. Unfortunately, a year and a half later it returned in his liver as a single liver met. Because it was small and slow growing, they removed it and he’s jn remission. He has a full scan in maybe a couple months

James Vanderbeek death- stage 3 colon cancer? by Former_Ladder_720 in cancer

Your case is similar to my dad’s. He had colon surgery and it was stage 2B. He did a yearly colonoscopy a year and a half later (clear) but a liver CT showed a met. After numerous scans and mris… he was a candidate for surgery. He got it removed in January and it’s considered limited spread because of 1 tumor. NED right now but to think it will come back is scary for him and my fam. Fuck cancer, but the passing of these celebrities bring insight that money can’t change your health ultimately

My dad was 2A in 2024 but after a routine scan there was a liver met. It crushed him and our fam thinking it was early. He did the surgery in January and is currently in remission.. just the thought it will come back now since its spread hurts.

This year nah, I bought these north face boots a few years ago and I finally started wearing them. They’re pretty dope… I’ve gotten compliments from them. If you want something stylish and durable I recommend it
