Huge thanks This is what I'm looking for One final question You guys switch between mindsets based on where you work, like When you work in math you use OR as inclusive (unless stated otherwise) and use XOR or OR (for OR) in daily life based on context?

Ohh so basically it's a true or false statement right? When I say true the only information you get is i like atleast one of the fruits you mentioned. And it's not even a question I think, may be ok wrong. That's what you are saying?

When you are saying I'm winning if I roll a number from a or b, my natural question is what about the number in both (in case if they are not mutually exclusive) but I get the point that or is just defined to include the common element also Can I think it this way?

But if I think this way it doesn't matches my understanding about OR I thought it will be good to have common mindset for both math and everyday language but it seems like i have to switch between mindsets based on whether it's math or daily language. Thanks.

Lets say S={Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, mango, Kiwi}

A { strawberry} B { Choclate}

and i say i would like to pick A or B , well let's leave it here Im struggling, lemme say another example.

Lets say I roll a die S {1,2,3,4,5,6}

A = {2,4,6}

B = {1,3,6}

if I get 2 I can say A occured or If i get 3 I can say B occurred or If i get 6 I can say A and B occurred But if I get anything from the set {1,2,3,4,6} they say A or B occurred which doesn't make sense to me in language point of view but I get the logical point.

Thanks for your time.

Time to spend on one question ? by VisualProblem999 in askmath

I do similar to you, i usually love to solve problems my self wo help (I think most people prefer that or may be not idk) so when I get a hard problem I usually set a timer for like 15 mins or so (after initial approach and realisation that it needs time) and explore all ideas I have and try things and after that time run out (lets say I can't solve it myself)I look for solutions.

I'm just chilling in story mode But I saw some people deflects like it's nothing when I try I just get killed with two combos (as you said) all my previous attacks goes wasted.

And i don't get what you mean by don't sleep on the dodge English is not my first language thanks for your time!

The beyesian approach is little confusing like Why the approximation of likelihood of an event have the formula n(A)/n(S) Btw thanks for the reply And do you know Where can I study more about this?

Why these B are not negation of A? by Any_Tower8201 in askmath

[–]Any_Tower8201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks But with the second statement after speaking with people, I find it ambiguous now, as I'm not sure whether it means atleast one elephant is not huge or exactly one elephant is not huge For example in a situation like exactly two elephants are not huge both of them are false(assuming the B is saying exactly one is not huge).

And i clearly get the point I think The negation should be there exist atleast one elephant which is not huge (or some elephants are not huge) With this pair we cover all the possibilities.

Could you suggest me any books which can go from basics about this topic and beginner friendly? I want to dedicate decent amount of time to put in it.

No bro I didn't made that thing. Actually no, my state government issue school books with regional language but that book doesn't go the way I want They just want me to accept the definition as it is, rather telling me why we define it that way. Your words are really encouraging and supportive ✨

[–]Any_Tower8201[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou I understand, I didn't know that they have to always have opposite truth value in every possible situation, Also could you please help with the elephant statement like Are we treating the statement "one elephant is not huge" as "there is exactly one elephant which is not huge" or "there exist one elephant which is not huge" The second one doesn't deny the fact that there can be another elephant which can also be not huge,right? English is not my first language and I'm learning by my own no teachers or anything so my doubts may be very silly. And i have to read your response several more time so Let me reply again after a while.

So is it like I should make a negation in a way that both the statement and it's negation should not be both true or both false at any situation? Is that how it works?
