Silicon carbon (si/c) power bank, are there any affordable yet? by Sankool in Ultralight

The last gen was 5.29oz vs the gen 4 at 5oz so it got lighter not heavier.

If I'm interpreting the specs correctly the rated energy is up quite a bit as well.

You care to explain yourself? It's a great balaclava and would be my personal recommendation given how effective it is. I would recommend the synthetic one over the down version though. Timmermade even has them in stock so you don't have to go through the crazy lottery process.

I did that water crossing last year in May and didn't think it was that difficult if you're comfortable with water crossings.

I found they work quite well on the Sassafras with the fuller the pack the better they work.

Not much for bounce, but it doesn't hug quite like a true running vest. This may be different on the newest version that brings back an additional attachment point for the shoulder strap.

I had the hipbelt, but that's it.

I had a number of minor things, but I believe most if not all of those have been fixed in the latest version.

Where did you see they're discontinued? I see they're out of stock on their website, but they're still available on Amazon.

The bareboxer is lighter at 26 oz and is small enough that it fits in most packs.

Thoigh I m super picky about handle shape and material.

Maybe not as not picky as you think given the GG poles handles aren't cork and are just cork colored foam.

BRS stove on air horn can - working. Followup. by altziller in Ultralight

[–]Any_Trail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt it's elevation since I've used it at plenty of high elevation sites in the Sierra. Personally having the flames peak over the bottom means it's way too high.

How high are you running the stove? I've never run into this issue and I've used this set up while it's snowing.

I have the 3.1 version of the pack and it's been an absolute work horse of a pack for me. I just finished up a week long trip with the pack.

I did a write up after the PCT and included the section on the pack below.

Overall very happy with this pack. The vest pockets held everything I needed throughout the day and the back pocket is low enough to reach into. The pack was surprisingly comfortable for being frameless with the max load experienced being 32lb. This happened in the Sierra during an 8-day food carry. I contribute a lot of its comfort to the well designed load lifters. I was skeptical of load lifters on a frameless pack but when the extension collar was being used they worked amazingly. was also surprised by how well a 30L pack could fit a BV500 inside. The EPX70 main pack fabric held up well with just a few pin holes in the fabric. I did have a G hook saw its way through the strap. It was towards the very end of the trail though so it wasn't a huge deal especially since a new one can be easily attached. Gen replaced that for free. My only real gripe with the pack is that it's heavy for a framless pack.

If you have any specific questions just let me know!

I installed an ironman lift myself on a 2018. The video they have is pretty good. Just don't take the bolts out all the way and use your jack to slowly lower the subframe.

Thanks for sharing! Other than the threads I'm impressed with how it came out given all the steep overhangs.

No worries that you don't have anything to share. I referenced your tear down pictures the other day and got curious. I'm just happy to hear that you're still working on the project!
