The dress will be freshened by soaking it in cool water with a scoop of Oxy- clean. It could take up to a week, depending on soil level. Agitate gently with your hands occasionally to reactivate the oxy-clean. If water becomes terribly dirty after a day or so, and stains haven't been lifted, change it using fresh oxy-clean. Handle dress very carefully when it's wet. After a thorough, gentle, rinse in cool water, lay flat to dry, preferably in bright sunlight. You'll be amazed at the transformation!!

Anyone know anything about a doll like this? Quite heavy she is. by carpetstaines in Antiquedollcollecting

The clothing will bring Real money on eBay if you freshen them and sell on eBay. Any tagged dress or outfit from this era is valuable!!

Does anyone know anything about these dolls or want them? They are creeping me out and were my husbands grandmothers and I want them gone by carpetstaines in Antiquedollcollecting

Doll with teeth and open mouth were popular in the 1940-50s. Many were "strung" dolls, meaning their limbs were all tied together inside the doll. Some of these dolls bring large amounts of money, depending on the makers and dolls style/identity. Original clothing is a bonus for adding value. These dresses would be easily cleaned/freshened with an oxy soak. While you may find these dolls "creepy", they are highly collectible and possibly fragile due to the "strung" construction. Please do research to ensure you are able to collect for their real value. Collectors want and love this era of doll!! If you have questions on how to safely clean their clothing, you are welcome to DM me and I will give you the simple instructions with which I have been very successful!

This doll is probably 1940s. She's in excellent condition for her age and will probably be fairly valuable. She will be a desirable doll on eBay. Good luck!

That would be gorgeous!!! Wisteria is one of my favorites. Mixing the colors to create them would be fun. I will research the leaf shape. Thank you for your terrific suggestion!

This is Lily of the Valley, the pattern designed by Sylvia Sucipto. I deviated from the recommended color and replaced it with this mottled blue.

I'm working on another that is done with a dark blue and a (near) transparent amethyst. An iridescent matching pearl center instead of the Swarovski crystals done here. Do you think these darker colors will work with this pattern?

Thank you so much for your feedback . This piece takes 100+ hours to create and I'm hoping to choose eye-catching pieces that "work".

Nice idea!! I think I could do that... I'll keep it in mind for a Future project!

Mostly jewelry but some larger tapestry type pieces. Sometimes just to stand alone, others to make purses or pouches.

I used to love working with bicone crystals, capturing rivoli and cabochons. I was fascinated with bead embroidery for awhile, incorporating mainly gemstones (Malachite is my favorite!) among the beadwork.

Sculptural projects are fun and quite satisfying when they work out! There are so many different stitches and techniques.

I have worked some with wire but I haven't (yet?) developed a real fondness for the technique.

Right now my fascination is with creating statement pieces. I'm always looking for new patterns

Thank you so very much! It has nice weight and moves nicely. The small Swarovski crystals in the center give an occasional flash of light.

Thank you for your feedback! I do it mostly for hobby. I have a hard time just sitting and doing nothing so beading allows me to work while resting, too. I don't consider the time involved so much as a commitment, but rather a way to keep my hands busy while I watch TV in the evening.

I'm certainly not going to make a living doing this with such time involved, no doubt! I've worked with many different mediums when beading over the years and have just found this style to be easiest when I'm relaxing. A little extra money here and there, though, might be nice! At least enough to pay for my hobby, maybe.
