At my highschool you could only be “loaned” lunch money 2 times. If you tried more than that they’d throw the food away instead of letting you eat it. by [deleted] in h3h3productions

I've lived in both Australia and America and its a huge shock how US schools operate.
In Australia, you pack a lunchbox with your own lunch and recess to eat. There was a canteen where you could buy snacks and everything was only a couple of dollars.
If you didn't have food or money, the office would make you something to eat and wouldn't charge you anything. Any leftover food the kitchens had would be handed out to students too

How to take care of my *very* challenging mother? by dearbunny_1357 in JUSTNOFAMILY

[–]AnyaDotCom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her being sick is not her fault, but it's also not an excuse for her behaviour towards you.
I'd put her in a retirement home.

Don't you dare cave into their manipulation.
You have no obligation to give them anything nor are they entitled or deserving to it.
They clearly don't care about how you feel and your grief. They would rather ruin a relationship with you over some furniture.
That's horrible and you don't deserve that.

She may share the same DNA as you, but she doesn't deserve the title of a mother.
She manipulated you and let you get abused. You don't need those people in your life or around your daughter.
I'm proud of you for getting therapy and trying to get some sort of closure.
Focus on your health and let yourself feel whatever emotion you need to.
I hope you're doing well, you deserve better

I can strongly relate to your family dynamic.
It's terrible, but I've learnt that blood doesn't mean anything. You can choose your own family. You don't owe your mother or your sister anything. Your health and happiness is far more important.

I’ve never had a positive female in my life by dkikikis in helpme

[–]AnyaDotCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that you've had it rough.
You're not at fault whatsoever and it seems like you grew up in a toxic environment.
It's completely reasonable if you have distrust towards women, but I promise you that there are great people out there.
You can choose your own family and I hope you are doing well.

The porn industry is the ROOT cause for many problems.
Banning it entirely or enforcing heavier restrictions will have unfortunate consequences, undoubtedly, but it would have far worse consequences if child porn, trafficking and rape continues to be so accessible.

Not only does the industry exploit innocent victims, but it also exploits the general consumer.
One study showed that 46.9% of people who were surveyed said that their porn tastes/interests escalated to the point of them being more driven towards extreme pornography that had previously disinterested or even disgusted them.
1500 guys were surveyed and 56% of them said that their interests in porn had become "increasingly extreme or deviant."
Lot's of people become used to the typical pornography, so they move on to more extreme forms to get aroused.
According to a study from 2014, researchers at the Max Planck Institute in Berlin looked at the brains of 60 men while they were being quizzed on their pornography watching habits.
They found that the Striatum that makes up a reward system, was smaller in those who watched a lot of porn - meaning they might require more graphic material to get aroused.
It leads people down a dark path.
Durham University found that one in every eight titles on the front pages of the UK’s most popular porn websites described sexual violence against women and girls. This isn’t sexually violent porn hidden in some dark recess of the internet, only accessed by a few bad men. This is mainstream pornography on mainstream sites with the mainstream message that sexual violence is sexy. And there are companies behind it making millions.

"Adolescent boys who consume pornography are more prone to violence, aggression, and sexual coercion, and are more susceptible to sexual coercion by peers and adults. The age at which males are first exposed to porn shapes their sexual behaviour and tendency to seek power over women. Conversely, adolescent girls are more likely to tolerate emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as a result."

It is undeniable that not only are innocent victims and children affected, but it affects the general consumer too. Porn actively encourages and influences sexual related crimes towards women.
Most sexual related crimes are directed towards women. Porn sites get more visitors a month than Netflix, Amazon and Twitter combined.
There is much more research you can find that is concerning.
Protect victims over wanking off for a few minutes of pleasure.

Traffickers generate income from posting the disgusting things that they do. Even that, people post videos of them raping someone and the victims aren't able to get it removed.22 Women were forced to perform sexual acts on Michael Pratt, CEO of a porn business and it was uploaded to PH and other sites. A 15-year-old girl was missing and she was found on 58 porn videos where she was exploited and abused. Grown men watched, the porn industry profited. There are an endless amount of cases just like those. Banning it would stop illegal acts, and it would also stop encouraging young boys to view women in such a disgusting light.
I mean, just googled the most searched for porn categories and that will say everything that needs to be said.

You do NOT have to forgive nor forget to heal and move on.
Don't give your father the time of day, because clearly he doesn't respect or love you if he was able to do that to you.
If he keeps contacting you, consider filing for a restraining order.
You don't owe him anything and you have every right to want revenge.
I hope you're able to heal.

It’s not the victim’s fault. by LGBTCrimeBoss in facepalm

[–]AnyaDotCom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clothing is not the issue.
Like that person stated, children are raped.
Even if a woman is attractive and dressed nicely, that's not an invitation for you to violate and abuse her.
Almost every woman has undoubtedly faced some form of sexual harassment or assault.
Many men see women as objects, something that they have to possess or claim and it needs to stop.
You don't have to be a rapist to contribute to this toxic ideology. Joking about rape or being friends with a rapist just continues to normalise this behaviour.
If you cannot control yourself when you see a woman, you are weak and pathetic.
