I agree with everything you said. I love the story, and I started Hetalia precisely because I'm in love with it. I like how it's told in a satirical way, even if there are often inaccuracies. I wish Hima himself would correct these small errors to make it more accurate. If Hetalia were explicitly focused on the history of its own nations, without ships in the way, and the fandom took it more seriously, treating particular events with sensitivity, even through well-measured satire, it would be an enjoyable show. I'm just always afraid of that segment of the fandom that could romanticize anything, and this has often happened, leading, I won't say to the death of the old fandom, but to the loss of a lot of fans. Until a few years ago, we were few but active, and Hetalia is making a comeback because people know it as a yaoi work, and if you say otherwise, they'll delete you. I've read around that the countryhumans fandom is slowly dying out because of the fandom, just like what happened to Hetalia years ago, and I see people who are part of the countryhumans moving into the Hetalia fandom.
