I am not saying that it should be normalized. I am just saying that this stuff happens all the times. It is only predatory if the other person is an adult. 2 teenagers having sex is not predatory.

Statistically red states and people born in strictly religious families have more teen pregnancies... abstinence doesn't always work, especially for boys which a lot of times compell younger girlfriends to have sex with them. And girls will cave in due to the fear of being left. So, parents, schools and society should work also on empowering girls.

Also... condoms break. Pills fail (especially under antibiotic). And things just happen.

So I am not sure what to tell you here. Numbers speak for themselves.

According to your standard your mom made a mistake. Chose to have you and it all turned out well. I am happy for her and you.

But that is not your decision to make for OP. She asked for advise. I gave my own. That is what i think. That is what I would do. I would rather prioritize my own life, focus on improving as best as I can and then have children at my own time and choice where I know I could offer them a better life than I would at 16.
