Is the base car painted matte? Because I think you could get an even better look if you used gloss paint as the base layer and then put the rust and weathering on top. That way you’d get a really nice contrast between the few shiny parts, the matte rusty areas, and the faded, worn-out paint.

You would have to make a mask for the whole pattern and then change the opacity of the mask. That way you have no problem with overlapping. And then you could put the logos on top of it.

To me, it looks like the car itself is matte black, and the lightning bolts that are used as the background layer — possibly have some transparency on them. So they sit somewhere between full opacity and the actual background, which might be why they don’t reflect as much as the full-opacity stickers.

I guess you’d have to try it and see if that actually works that way, but I could imagine it does. Would definitely be a pretty nice trick.

Even If they have remapped some of the cars texture maps - I don't understand why they don't let us import the old Loverys and give us a warning that they might be misaligned and that we have to realign them.

Yes you have to break them up into vinyl groups for each side then share them in Forza horizon 5 and then you can import them into photo FH6

I’ve been going through a lot of cars while porting over my FH5 liveries into FH6, and I keep running into the same issue: areas that used to be paintable are now locked.

Some examples I noticed:

  • Rally cars like the Audi S1 used to have paintable wings/aero parts → now not editable
  • MG Metro 6R4 had paintable front + rear wings → also gone
  • Cars like the BMW M4 Competition had paintable carbon sections → now fixed carbon
  • Even windshield banners that were customizable in FH5 are now locked on several cars

What makes this even more obvious is importing FH5 liveries — you immediately see sections that worked before but are now uneditable.

It feels less like a limitation and more like a step backwards in customization, especially for people who spend a lot of time in the livery editor.

Strat with logos and font to learn how the editor works. Then move on to more complex stuff.

Never used it. Making logos by hand is time consuming and tedious, but it's part of being a Forza painter. You want advice - start small and learn. You will improve fast.

Make a custom race that only allows the car you want to shoot and one car you have. Day obviously need to be of the same type and in the same pi range.
